Are these real ads? If so, they must've been around before I was born or while I was a very little kid because I don't remember them.

That tapeworm has to be unreal. People were never that stupid even at the turn of the 20th century.

They must be real ads. Sailor isn’t in the advertising business.

Yes TapeWorms were used for weight loss, the tapeworms (supposedly) absorbed nutrients so your body would not.

I'm not sure, but I think I remember Grandpa mentioning something about tapeworms being used for weight loss. As for the one about the lard, I simply can't imagine ANYONE wanting to eat that willingly because I can't stand lard! It's just icky, slimy, GROSS!😝😝😝

My ex neighbor told me that years ago, her and her friend bought a couple of jars of chocolate weight loss products.
She forgot to refrigerate hers.
The next day she opened the jar and some had melted.
There were tapeworms in the jar.
She called her friend and told her throw the jar of stuff away.
That gave me the willies to think it's possible, but I guess it was.

Only Lard makes good pie crusts and good donuts. Used to render the lard after butchering and my grandmother made donuts that day for us.

Yes, that's what I heard. I know that it's used in some Mexican cooking, too, but I really can't handle heavy fats because they upset my stomach. Once a month, I pick up some fried chicken, but only because the rotisserie or chicken is always undercooked and that, of course, can be dangerous.

Lard makes good pie crusts, I save bacon grease which is bacon flavored lard.
