While not believing our Liar-In-Chief is good enough reason for banning something, the more important reason is that the drug does not meet the United States gold standards for testing. We all know Trump is not a stickler for high standards.

Democrats have standards for telling the truth?
Cum-on man!

Hillary knows when she is lying. Biden doesn't know what he is being fed from his handlers.
What will Biden's mental health be like 1 year from now?

Why would Hillary lie? Because she's Hillary

The FDA recently pulled the emergency approval of hydroxychloroquine for Covid-19. The FDA determined the drug should not be used outside clinical trials because the risk of taking it outweighs any benefit. Once again, Trump proves his ignorance and desperation. https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2020-06-15/fda-pulls-emergency-approval-of-hydroxychloroquine-for-covid-19

Blade Runner, Please forgive me for cutting and pasting, but MAYBE Dashy and others will figure out from this how much the HCT studies have been (deliberately) skewed to politicize an already proven and effective drug for treatment and prevention of Covid. I, too, would take HCT if exposed.

"Try to keep up, bubba, the "WH expert" to whom you refer supported Hillary Clinton, even wrote "love letters" to her, so he has a political agenda.

As noted above,

India, with a population of 1.4 billion people, is the second most populated country on earth, yet we must ask why India has had such remarkable success in keeping Covid infections in check.

Currently, India has recorded 1,751,794 confirmed cases and 37,403 deaths. Would you believe HYDROXOCLOROQUINE?

Experts Explain: The case for using hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to treat Covid-19

HCQ Helps Contain COVID-19 Cases: New Evidence and a Major Retraction

This Indian slum contained a possible COVID-19 disaster with hydroxychloroquine

On July 9, 2020, Asia's biggest and densest slum shocked the world by announcing just one new positive COVID-19 case despite being a cluster and hotspot.

Dharavi is no ordinary slum. It is one of the densest in the world, housing more than a million people. It provided some of the background for the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire.

Dharavi contains pockets where as many as 650,000 people are crammed into 2.5 square kilometers. In comparison, New York City has only around 95,605 people for 2.5 square kilometers.

India feared the worst when a cluster outbreak of COVID-19 was reported in Dharavi. It could have become the biggest COVID-19 disaster zone in the world. But by using proactive measures, Dharavi contained the virus.

Media around the world, like the Los Angeles Times, have reported the success. Even the World Health Organization praised Dharavi.

Reports credit the huge turnaround to various factors. Most focused on Dharavi's use of widespread testing and contact tracing. One is the use of an anti-malarial drug. But they ignored the policy most responsible. Indian doctors used hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for prophylaxis (preventive) treatment — the same drug the American media have politicized.

Dharavi's COVID-19 infection rate dropped drastically from April through June. In July, new infections were very low, almost reaching zero on July 9.

Officials have credited this turnaround to "a combination of hydroxychloroquine, vitamin D, and zinc tablets along with homeopathic medicines."

HCQ has been widely used across India to treat early-stage COVID-19. It is also prescribed for prophylaxis among those who have come into contact with people who have tested positive.

In India, HCQ has always been legal. The government's official COVID-19 task force, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), highly recommends it for high-risk people like medical practitioners.

The ICMR guidelines recommend prophylactic use of HCQ for the following categories:

1) "all asymptomatic healthcare workers involved in containment and treatment of COVID19 and asymptomatic healthcare workers working in non-COVID hospitals/non-COVID areas of COVID hospitals/blocks";
2)"symptomatic frontline workers, such as surveillance workers deployed in containment zones and paramilitary/police personnel involved in COVID-19 related activities"; and
3) "symptomatic household contacts of laboratory confirmed cases."

In other words, HCQ is for anyone with the slightest chance of contracting COVID-19."

I'd also like to add the following for the debate about which drugs to use:

The cost of using resemidir can vary but usually runs $1000.oo (given IV) for a standard course of treatment (inpatient obviously, so more thousands of dollars there) .
For hydroxychloroquinone, it is taken orally, usually at home. A pack of 50 tabs (200 mg) runs an out-of-pocket price can range from $150.00 to $178.00 all the way down to $20.41 with a Good Rx coupon at Costco and other pharmacies.
Dr. Fauci owns stock in the company that produces resemidir, but there are a number of companies that produce HCQ, so the competition helps prevent price gouging.
So, all things considered, which is more cost-effective?.

A good reasonable preventive action is;
Drink Tonic water; $1 per 2 litre bottle, with juice of your choice.
Zinc tablets.
Stay away from Democrats.

You should probably be directing your Covid-19 Indian argument for stopping the pandemic to the FDA officials in the United States rather than to individual posters on OPP. I doubt you will convince many posters on this board to move to India to get the drug. The FDA here has already pulled approval of using HCQ to prevent or cure COVID because the risk of taking it outweighs the benefits. The point you should emphasize in trying to convince U.S. leaders to follow India's lead is: "Reports credit the huge turnaround....on Dharavi's use of widespread testing and contact tracing." In spite of Trump's effort to stop testing here in the U.S., that technique is being used successfully all over the world to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Nope. People are sick and tired of dealing with Trump and his hodgepodge mess of self-interested poltical talk. I look forward to November when we can finally get back on course and head American back in the right direction.

Well, that ain't gonna happen with Biden as President! All those candidates of various ethnicity and gender and the best the Democrats could finally agree on is Biden. Democratic Party is even more dysfunctional than the Republicans.

So Trump takes on the job of drug salesman to show everybody he is really trying to stop the spread of the coronavirus? It really is his fault for lying to the American people about the evils of Covid-19 and failing to take positive action early in the pandemic to help stop the spread. If his current recommendation fails to cure the virus he will look more like a chump that he does now.

Since your education failed to teach you world history you are ignorant of the fact all pandemics end.
This has been going on since the dawn of man.
Now I will give you what your schools failed to do, in 1345 a bug hit London England and in 7 months it killed 70% of the city! No drugs, no vaccine, but after 7 months it went away and never came back. London is still there. That is how it works. You can hide but you can't run, CV-19 is everywhere, when it's done it will be gone. You can blame anyone you want, it makes no difference. But flapping your lips as you do make you look dumb.
