One of my favorite groups in the 1960s. They did awesome live concerts.

Isn't this crazy? Taj Mahal, credibly singing Dave Dudley?

It gives me the impression black folks and white folks have more in common than pop culture wants us to know.

Especially after the English invasion of music of the 1960s and their reintroducing Black American Blues artists to American white kids. Roch and roll from that era even played a huge role in the collapse of the USSR. Soviet teens wanted the music and you can't continue to censor everything. The politburo even recognized this and in an effort to placate the youth, they tried to establish clubs that played Rock 'N' Roll with live Russian bands of teens. Unfortunately, the powers that be couldn't dictate tastes in music. THe teen onslaught reached a critical mass that even Gorbachev couldn't ignore. Just another straw among the many that broke the camels back.

Booker T and the MGs!

It seems we were getting along too well for the Cabal's comfort.

I loved McLemore Ave. Their adaptation of The Beatles Abbey Road.
