WHO WAS AUNT JEMIMA??..

So much for political correctness.

If this is true?? All the work she did for the good of the people has now gone down the drain because of the sorry people who may not have ever held a job, been in jail several time and never done anything good for anyone in their whole life. Maybe be involved in some of the burning and robbing the stores yelling BLM. What a great race on living being we have become?

The world knew her as "Aunt Jemima," but her given name was Nancy Green, and she was a true American success story.

Born a slave in 1834 in Montgomery County, KY, she became a wealthy superstar in the advertising world, as its first living trademark.

While in Kentucky, Green was employed by Charles Walker, then an attorney and later a distinguished Circuit Judge. She moved with the family to Chicago just after the Great Fire in 1872.

Walker heard that a friend was looking for a model for the Aunt Jemima character, and he suggested Green who, by that time, had served the family for many years. She was instantly recognized with the characteristics the guy was looking for... charisma, humor, and a fantastic cook.

Green was 56 yrs old when she was selected as spokesperson for the new ready-mixed, self-rising pancake flour and made her public debut in 1893 at the World’s Fair in Chicago. She demonstrated the pancake mix while serving up thousands of pancakes... and became an immediate star. She was a wonderful storyteller, her personality was warm and appealing, and her showmanship was exceptional. Her exhibition booth drew so many people that special security personnel were assigned to keep the crowds moving.

Nancy Green was signed to a lifetime contract, traveled on promotional tours all over the country, and was extremely well paid. Her financial freedom and stature as a national spokesperson enabled her to become a philanthropist, a leading advocate against poverty, and a fighter for equal rights.

She maintained her job until her death in 1923, at age 89, after becoming one of America’s first black millionaires.

This was a remarkable woman... and she has just been ERASED by politically correct liberal bedwetters.

Wouldn’t you think they would be proud of her and want to keep her memory alive?? It’s just ridiculous what the dumbocrats are doing!

WHO WAS AUNT JEMIMA??.. br br br So much for p... (show quote)

I think they should change the name to Nancy Green pancakes, include a flattering image of her not dressed like a servant and include a synopsis of her life on the packaging. This would honor her while abandoning the racial stereotype. For too many decades black women and men have been called Sambo or Jamima as insult.

There is nothing wrong with being a servant as long as you are an honest one. That is much more honorable than being a welfare recipient for an extended time, or for any time at all if you could work but do not wish to do so, because work is below you.

Would you then buy Auntie Nanci pancakes?
And the fact was that she was a paid servant, doing a job of cook for many years to the same family. And probably had a servants style of dress, as current fashion of that time. She was a hell of a cook and that was one of the reasons she was hired. Also a great personality and made a lot of money on her image. Sort of like Michael Jordan selling bull shite shoes for outrageous amounts of money to poor black kids. Maybe not. She just helped getting them fed nutritious pancakes.

I guess you don't use the product then? The image had been updated with an attractive modern black woman. Both decals were probably still in use depending on what sold best in local markets.

He is going to rue what he's wishing for if it comes to pass. He'll be one of the first they do away with. Mike
