I was not sure where I should post this...This morning I asked Admin to change the name of Penny's log on, I wanted to preserve her writings, but I needed to get a message out to anyone who knew her. I did not want to become a member, so I am hijacking her account for today.

Momma went for a late run last night and was hit by a car about 4 miles from her farm. She is died on the scene. I have no other details.

Oh no!!! I am so sorry to hear that this happened. My deepest sympathy for your loss. We will all miss her contributions.

I do wish you wouldn't change her login and would keep it as Pennylynn.

So let me get this straight.

Pennylynn is your mother and she has passed away after being struck by a car ?

If this is true, I am shocked and mortified.

My deepest condolences to you and all of her family

She adopted me almost 7 years ago. Yes while she was running she was hit by a car and is dead. I don't give a rats ass if you believe it or not.

Your Mother was a true light on this web site and I have had many wonderful correspondences with her on here. She loved her Papa so much and she will be greatly missed on here and you r were truly blessed to have her for your stepmother. Sometimes you have to ignore

One of the normally seen human responses to loss and part of the subsequent grief process is denial. I was initially confused by the circuitous route by which this announcement arrived to me and the slightest hope that this truth had been somehow miscontrued by some confusion on my part was my only hope to avoid this awful final realization.

This responsibility for this kind of announcement would be obviously painful for anyone, each keystroke, I imagine, another blow to your heart.

Please bear with us as we absorb the magnitude of our own loss and try not trouble yourself over our stumbling attempts to avoid the magnitude of that loss. For the atheist friends she made on this site, our sense of loss is compounded by the belief in the finality of death without some promised ressurection or future reunion.

Your Mom was an arbiter of truth and clarity of messaging. Thank you for your grace and thoughtfulness in informing us. And for your forbearance as we struggle to catch up.

I, too, am glad to hear from you, once more.

Although the circumstances certainly make celebration incongruous.

I will add my Christian Amen to your very appropriate and articulate response! I think Pennylynn would have appreciated the way that only you would have presented it! It is shocking news, to say the least! I will miss her very informative and passionate responses! She said what she meant, and she meant what she said! A very admirable lady was the lovely Pennylynn of OPP!
