I think they know deep down that he is indeed unfit for office. Supporting Trump proves they'll accept literally anyone as their president as long as they're a Republican due to their wrong and unfounded fear that the next Dem in office is going to take away their precious arsenal of unnecessarily collected guns. Guns that in their fantasy world, they think they likely will need at a moments notice due to their fear of people raiding their home any minute now to steal their food, their wife and/or kids, or worst of all, their dually pick up truck which, trust me, they value over all else. Remember, we're not exactly talking about Rhodes Scholars here.
