It's politics!! Politicians lie all the time !!I haven't one politician who hasn't lied!

Secondly, you sound pretty naive... "people shouldn't have to discern truth from lies"... Really?

Thirdly, you go on to contradict yourself... We should trust people, but check up to make sure they are not lying?? I'm not renovator... I can do basic work, but need to trust the professionals for more advanced things... Having made my choice, I then need to stay out of his way while he works... Not second guess everything he does in some sad attempt to look more knowledgeable than I am..

Fourthly, the whole point of my post was that I don't believe without question... I can separate words from actions and truth from fiction... A lie is only damaging if it leads to the platforms I support not being fulfilled... You seem to assume that if an individual lies it mean they aren't fit for office... There goes 90% of Congress
Firstly, he's the leader of America... The rest o... (show quote)

There goes 90% of Congress

Isn't that number a little low?

Politicians tell you what they would like to do when they get into Congress. When they get to Congress they find out they are a nobody and about all they can do is go along with the Leadership. Now they have to go back to their districts and inform their constituents that they have co-sponsored a couple of bills. Since they can't get nothing done we call them liars.

Sometimes.... But many recognize that fact before they get there...

When one campaigns on certain platforms one should follow through with the attempt to champion them...

I'll give you the free world thing, no problems. If thinking our leaders shouldn't lie to us makes me naive in your opinion, then I'm naive. Seems we come from two different worlds and those worlds will probably never meet.

Leaders shouldn't lie... But recognizing that they do means it's up to the electorate to exercise discernment...

I live in beautiful southern Illinois. We are surrounded by beautiful scenery, but unfortunately we are taxed to death. People are leaving at an astounding rate. Jobs in rural America are not easy to find, especially for a person unable to work away from their home, as I am.
I have Fibromyalgia. I just did the bloodtest and was categorized as Strongly Confirmable. I am going to participate in a Clinical Trial as soon as COVID19 is under control.
I am going to give this a try, as I have never participated in this type of forum before.
My main issue is our country’s leader. I have no use for that person. I try to understand what his supporters see in him. Why they support such a deceitful person. Do they allow their family members to be deceitful to them, or their co-workers, their clergy???? If they do, God really needs to help us. If they don’t, what makes them accept it from him.

Not bad for a new comer. You started something that got to page 3 in something like an hour. Well done.

You live in a fantasy land if you think politicians are honest people!

Absolutely. Also, I think politicians should have a clear vision of just what issues they are wanting to support. Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri is a good example. He ran saying he would support President Trump all the way. He won easily and he is doing that. Senator Hawley is one to watch because he will be in the leadership soon.

That's a platform I might have been wary of...

But I understand what he means...
