Trump Caved to the Globalists

There was a time when claiming to be a conservative meant something.

Republicans have long claimed to embrace conservatism. Republican politicians, for example, profess pro-Christian, anti-big government ideals. But as we've noted over the years, even when Republicans control all three branches of government, the welfare state, the warfare state and federal leviathan show no more slowing of their growth than if the Democrats were in charge.

Much of the Republican electorate thinks the Republican establishment — also known as the GOPe — consists of RINOs (Republicans in name only). This is incorrect. The party is dominated by CINOs (conservatives in name only). That is Republicans pretending to be conservative, or faux conservatives. These are Republicans in the mold of the George Bushes (both the elder and the lesser), John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and John Boehner.

During the 2016 Republican primary, the party put forth a hodgepodge of pseudo-conservative namby-pambies and once again expected the party's rank-and-file voters to hold their collective noses and vote for whichever milquetoast emerged from the party's primary, which would have been run like kindergarten sandbox in which everyone played nice in preparation for one to emerge victorious only to surrender to Hillary Clinton once the real "election" got underway; much like McCain and Romney both did against Barack Obama.

And then along came Donald Trump. Although he was formerly an anti-gun, pro-abortion Democrat and big spender to elect Democrat politicians over the years, Trump crashed the Republican's dinner party like a bull in china shop. He figuratively smashed JEB! (Jeb Bush) in the mouth. He crushed little Marco Rubio and outlasted Ted Cruz, neither of whom were even constitutionally eligible to serve if they won.

Trump's virtue, according to his supporters, was that he punched back. Yes, he was crude. Yes, he had his warts. Yes, he was a philanderer. But the rank-and-file saw in Trump something they hadn't seen from one of their men in years; he was a fighter who claimed a love for America over allegiance to the globalists.

He also promised to protect the 2nd Amendment, close the border and stop illegal immigration and appoint conservative judges — and, importantly, conservative Supreme Court justices — to the bench. These were all issues the Republican voter — and many Democrat voters — had been clamoring for for years. None of the pansies running for the Republican nomination since Ronald Reagan had so vociferously supported an America-first agenda and spoken so fervently, even if not eloquently, about a renewing of American values.

And then Trump did something few thought possible. Surviving body blows thrown by the political establishment and the corporate legacy media in the form of last-minute leaked audios of crude locker room-type conversations about pretty women and fame and hints of coming blockbuster-style news regarding Russian election assistance, Trump won back some rustbelt states for the Republican party and beat Hillary Clinton. And this even though most of the GOPe abandoned him at the last minute and joined the #NeverTrumps who still oppose everything he does with psychotic fervor.

This created a phenomenon I call the Trump effect. It's a combination of blind rage and unfettered hatred of Trump by the GOPe, the Democrat elite (and many of their voters) and the legacy mainstream media (sometimes manifested as Trump Derangement Syndrome) versus an almost cult-like allegiance and acceptance of everything Trump says and does. The latter group I'll refer to as Trumpers.

And we may be handing away our liberties because of it.

When shown dire numbers of sickness and death spitting out of computer models from the Imperial College of England — 2.2 million Americans and more than half a million Brits would be killed by the COVID-19 disease unless drastic steps were taken to halt the spread of the virus (that have since been twice walked back by the original author) — Trump caved to the globalists and medical men surrounding him and began issuing draconian recommendations and edicts to close down the country.

Governors, county administrators and mayors began trying to outdo one another in implementing Orwellian controls of movement and assembly. Some even imposed 24-hour curfews that confine people to their homes except to go to and from jobs that some bureaucrat deemed "essential" and to purchase food and necessities. All other travel is banned.

Police began arresting people for attending funerals and children's birthday parties. People were banned from visiting their loved ones in the hospital.

Our Constitution, which was essentially shredded by Republican Abraham Lincoln, was further torn by Republican politicians compromising with Democrats on the collectivist agenda over the years. The CINOs have been particularly adept at leading astray large numbers of middle-class Americans, especially Christians, patriots and other good folks.

Now comes the final evisceration of the Bill of Rights — and Trumpers are cheering as their liberties are being stripped from them in the name of "safety."

It's hard to imagine any concept being more dangerous than the concept that the government provides safety. Government has been the administrator of hundreds of millions of deaths over the last 100 years.

When Bush II pushed the USA Patriot Act through a complicit Congress after 9/11, he did it in the name of safety. All it did was codify into law that the government can spy on us 24/7 without consequence and without due process. When Bush II put the Middle East war started by his father into overdrive, he did it for our "safety." He proclaimed we had to fight them there so as not to fight them here. Americans assumed "there" meant Afghanistan — even though the alleged airplane hijackers were mostly Saudis. That war now means we attack them there and "there" means everywhere. It also means "them" includes Americans, as we learned under Barack Obama.

Americans have become so steeped in party ideology they'll suffer all sorts of impositions on our liberty and all sorts of lawbreaking by our politicians as long as the politician claims to be "our guy." I'm convinced that one of the positives of the Obama administration is that Republican voters' blanket objection to his policies kept "our guys" from agreeing to go along with him on many issues. Had a President McCain or President Romney proposed a ban on guns following Sandy Hook or one of the other mass shootings, "our guys" would have gone along and the voters would have barely whimpered.

I note that little was said by supposed pro-2A Trumpers when Trump — without authority — banned bump stocks.

Then along came a new "enemy" and just like that, someone shouted bug and America went from a semi-free nation to Venezuela in the span of three weeks with little or no complaint — and a whole lot of support — from the Trumpers and the wholehearted endorsement of leftist pundits and politicians.

Blind allegiance to a man or party is dangerous. More dangerous even than the worst bug China could cook up in a lab.

The number one goal of all governments historically is to control and dominate their own citizens. The more deceptively it can be done, the more complete and long-lasting the tyranny.

Modern tyranny has a new face. It is benevolent totalitarianism. Police state totalitarianism went out with World War II. The "Gestapo" knock at the door in the middle of the night and barbed-wire detainment camps are history. Benevolent totalitarianism is an advanced stage of people control through mind control and mass psycho political manipulation.

We have embraced socialist serfdom in the name of safety. We will be hard-pressed to get our liberties back. Government rarely gives back that which it has taken.

Yours for the truth,

P.S. — FIFTY years ago, I saw where the nation and the world were headed. I was alarmed. I knew I had to speak up and be the warning oracle for those who would hear and heed the alarm.

That's why, in 1969, I launched The Bob Livingston Letter®, my monthly print newsletter, to expose the lies, deceit, misinformation and disinformation being spread as "truth" by the government, the manipulated media and the controlling elite.

It still amazes me that, despite 70 years worth of easily searchable material on the real Donald Trump, people chose the re-created "running-for-president" trump, that is demonstrably fake. The only genuine parts of the current version of trump, is the easily manipulated ( just tell him it'll make him look "strong" ), easily distracted ( they not giving you no love donald! ), barely literate, self centered toddler on ample display during any given news conference, when someone asks a question he doesn't like.

Sorry trumpers.............................you've been had...................and some of us tried to warn you in plenty of time to avoid this calamity.

Sicilianthing, I want to concentrate on just one idea of your post. The idea of Trump caving into globalist idea of harshness of measures to fight the pandemic. As a result of Trump waiting seventy days to recognize the very real threat ( plus or minus ) the US has the distinct honor of having the most cases of the pandemic as well as the most deaths. How many cases could have been avoided if he had started to prepare for the pandemic as medical doctors all over the country advised? No telling, but at least we would have had many more masks, gloves, swabs, and ventilators. Now he still hasn't ordered people to stay at home. He is only now starting to use the defense production law. This man still believes he knows more than the medics, and other health officials.

Noted and valid points in some respects... these are the traits I was also worried about from the beginning.
I supported him for a while until he signed USMCA, that was it ! Treason

He’s always been an opportunist and that never leaves one’s character... so he’s just now exploiting the position for as long as he can until they are done with him, remove him or idk what...

He does some good I guess by throwing out some appeasements to his base but most of it wont return or our Sovereignty or reverse the damages already done.

I pray for Divine Intervention
