I have posted and said before that I had no problem with President Trumps policies, but his behavior. This pandemic has changed my mind. His response to the pandemic in this country has been incompetent, very late, and self serving. The epidemic first occurred in China. While it is true that China tried to hide the truth about the pandemic, it is also true that this countries intelligence community had to warn the POTUS, about the danger of the virus. Trump's response to the pandemic was absurdly late. Remember Trump saying that the pandemic was not of great concern? It would go away like magic. A couple of weeks ago, he apparently was convinced by his medical advisors that it was very, very serious. His response was not to make plans for this terrible pandemic. He told us that everybody that wanted a test would be able to have one. Here we are several weeks later and I know people that have asked to be tested that could not get one. Why didn't the President do everything he could to make sure that there were enough hospitable beds, face masks, protective medical protective gowns and masks, ventilators available to meet this terrible threat? He seemed to be more concerned about the economy than the deaths of Americans. The economy is certainly very important, but not as much as our health and lives. He now says that it is the responsibility of the states to make sure that the things needed to fight the pandemic are obtained. That of course is absurd. New York City is about to run out of everything needed. Health workers are short of protective gear and are catching the virus in great numbers. Patients will not have ventilators anywhere what is needed. The President has invoked the National defense production Act, but has not used it. All he does is appear on TV, and discuss all kinds of things like the influx of illegal drugs and other unrelated subjects as much as the pandemic to make himself look good. He still has no plan to fight the pandemic, but responds to what is happening day to day.

Can, I disagree with all you said. I'll tell you what I've done, I've stayed home, and not spread this pandemic. If I were POTUS, I certainly would hope that I'd have the common sense to take advise from the medical community, by Feb. at the latest. It may not have stopped this pandemic, but we would have been a hell of a lot more ready for it. I certainly wouldn't have taken credit for the things I haven't done, like Trump. We have been fighting the war on drugs for decades, and all it does is get worse. A wall certainly won't make a dent. It's time to look at other possible solutions.

War on drugs? Please... That's not a war...

Execute all drug users.... That's a war...

Problem solved...

Good on you for staying home... That is the smart decision... Unless you're in a Home and not allowed to leave... Then it's just the situation you're in and you get no credit...

Why didn't the various States listen to the experts?
Are they all morons?
Is the POTUS the only intelligent person in power and if he goes y'all are screwed?

Ouch!
Glad I don't live in the US... That's brutal

I see that you agree with that dictator from the Philippines, he is shooting all junkies without the benefit of a trial. He has just told his police to " shoot dead " anybody in the streets during the pandemic. If you like Trump, you'll love him. I think that you should probably move there since you agree with this murderous dictator.

Per Factcheck.org (https://www.factcheck.org/2020/03/the-facts-on-trumps-travel-restrictions/) he place travel restrictions on China, which stemmed from “the uniform recommendations of the career public health officials here at HHS.” Sorry, but - Not late, not incompetent and not self serving. And, BTW, it is up to each state to maintain the health of their citizens, just like they maintain rules and regs for home and car insurance and drivers licenses, plus as they do for medicare and medicaid. Health workers short of protective gear is just like a health worker short of tongue depressors - Washington, D.C., i.e. the Federal Government does not maintain hospital supplies for each and every hospital in the U.S. Check with your local hospital supply chain manager. Sorry, but the feds only get involved when the states show their incompetency. As Gov Cuomo so adroitly demonstrates every time he opens his mouth. Is Trump at fault for how some of this pandemic has ben handled? Yes! But surely, it all starts with each individual states preparedness to fight a pandemic. And, since this pandemic is a fluid situation, he responds to it on a day to day basis as needs and priorities change, i.e., ordering the USS Comfort to complete their overall early and get to N.Y. in one week - which it did. That my friend is responding to the day-to-day affairs of an unpredictable virus that can be controlled by the feds verses those that are in control of the states (just as Gov Cuomo).

Trump is still screwing up. When is he going to call a nation wide stay at home order? When is he actually going to use the national defense production order? When is he going to make sure states like New York that didn't vote for him gets what it needs to fight the pandemic, like Florida that did vote for him?

Duterte is not a dictator... And I love his drug policy

I wouldn't move to the Philippines though... I prefer China...
