Greta Thunberg, the Swedish teenager who inspired the global school climate strikes, says it is “extremely likely” she has had the Covid-19 virus.

The teenager, whose solo protest outside the Swedish parliament kickstarted the global youth campaign, said in a post on Instagram that she had self isolated after she and her father returned from a trip around central Europe about two weeks ago.

A few days later she said they both began to feel ill, and she complained of feeling tired with “shivers, sore throat and cough”.

Thunberg said she had not been tested for the virus, in line with the policy in Sweden, and was now “basically recovered”.

But she issued an urgent warning to other young people to take the virus seriously – even if they themselves were often only facing mild symptoms.

“We who do not belong to a risk group have an enormous responsibility, our actions can be the difference between life and death for many others.”

Wish her a speedy and full recovery. A plucky young girl with no political power has shown the potential for what we now recognize as “influencers”.

They sequestered as soon as directed to do so, and she is now encouraging the millions inspired by her to do the same. Sadly Europe and the US dropped the ball and this is now out of control. I am dreading the reality of the next few weeks. There are very few upsides to totalitarian states, even benevolent ones. The one thing they do have going is the ability to respond to a disaster. When hurricanes savaged the Caribbean the death toll on many islands and in the US was high, not so in Cuba because when the government said to evacuate they sent trucks and busses and there were no fools refusing to go and deciding to ride it out only to be helicoptered off rooftops a couple days later, or stuffed into a body bag. When told to go they had no choice as those kept inside in China. Here not so much, the local liquor stores are with a wink and a nod “essential businesses” because they sell “groceries” I guess potato chips count. American morons are hoarding toilet paper, booze and ammunition because they have been conned into believing that the experts are tools of the state who are lying to them, and of course that the solution to every problem is simply to arm themselves, screw that staying inside.

Kevyn nailed a few good points... Credit where credit is due...

And I'm in an off mood today... Annoyed at the world...

Back when it was China burning I was kind of like "we'll be fine....it's just China"... But now it's hit home... And Baby Trudeau is a useless cuck...

Not impressed with Washington State either... Bunch of cousins there... Although one family got over to Japan and are sticking it out there...

Folk need to calm down and get through this thing... Too much idiocy and fear mongering these days...

Although I laughed hard when Trump explained why he stopped calling it the China virus... And then a bill gets introduced to investigate and sue China.... Loved that hard

Never!!! he has far toooooooo many douche'isms to give him any credit, his past and future idiocy will prevent me from ever giving him credit for anything other than trying to destroy our nation with his far left fringe bull.

His oxygen should have been removed long ago, or a trip back in time to see if his mammy would like to try some PP that he is so fond of and pushes for it to be used...under the guise of women's health...
hahahahaha

Me too Canuck, I must move bout the place as I am deemed essential( many think otherwise, and I agree)....I love going to meetings where they like to group you up and then discuss Carona, then tell you not to group up The insanity of it all.....then the fools managing the meeting pass a clipboard around for a signature proving you were there.....future lawsuits I imagine..CYA as always.

But hey, Gas is a buck 62 a gallon....almost makes me wish I paid for my own fuel The funny part is....nobody can take advantage of since there is not really any place to go.

I was kind of surprised at the move away from "Chinese virus" myself. I would like to know what prompted it but it appears some of Trump's advisors convinced him it wasn't good policy. Personally I rather enjoyed it. I have nothing against the Chinese as Country except their ideology, my granddaughter is Chinese, but when I see those people from the press asking stupid, irrelevant questions, it gives me pleasure to see them put down. I am very happy with what Trump has done so far. I don't see how anyone can not be, but there are always things that could be changed - maybe that's one of them. Actually I don't see any connection between Trump's action to be nice to China and the decision to sue them. As a country(or it's leaders), they have earned it. As a people, they are to be loved as any other people, they are as much a part of God's creation as we are.

I wonder who wrote that for her.

I've known a number of inspiring teenagers. She is not one of them through no fault of her own.

I wish her a complete recovery.

I didn't mean to insinuate that Trump was pushing the bill...

It came as welcome news over here that he an Xi Jinping had spoken and started to mend ties... The news of the bill came mere hours later

I didn't mind if either... There are plenty of Chinese still calling it the Wuhan virus
