The situation looked promising with Dems and GOP working together and appears they were so close to finishing the deal when Speaker Pelosi walked and squashed the whole deal. Looks like those payments of around $12,000 will be delayed because Pelosi has thrown a wrench into the whole deal. Maybe we won't be getting those checks as soon expected. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/senate-fails-move-foward-coronavirus-phase-three-rescue-bill

Pelosi knows that she needs some relevancy in this crisis, and claimed that democrats will be writing their own bill.

This is a senate bill but for some GOP senators in self imposed isolation, pure BS by any definition, the bill would have passed but alas, not a single democrat voted for it.

What did you expect. Apparently there has been no move toward sanity by the Dems. I think Byron hit the nail when he said Nancy is looking for relevancy in this situation.

Hello Kevyn:
This delay of the passage at the Senate stimulus bill was another democrat political stunt at the sufferings of the American people, the stock market and our economy.

The purpose of the $1.4 trillion Senate bill is to providing urgent stimulus to the suffering economy at present, and restore the stock market.

Senate put up that stimulus of $1.4 trillion dollars but blocked by a democrat senate as soon as Pelosi and Schumer entered, designed their own with following amendments. They put up ahead their political interests over the urgent needs of the people to saving our economy.

Pelosi is not the Senate president but she wanted to overrule the senate’s authority by presenting her own plans.
Her purposes were two folds.
1. To delay the Senate stimulus package which would further harm the companies seriously needing help to continue its operation, and further negatively affect the stock market.
2. Another purpose of Pelosi is to creating psychological impact among the people, luring people that the democrats are more compassionate for providing more significant monetary assistance than the republicans. Therefore, these people will vote for them. It is a quid pro-quo, always using the money of the taxpayers.

Senate McConnel will try again to pass the bill this Monday. Will see how the Senate vote. I hope the 5 Senators on self-isolation could come back.

For certain, this delay will harm further our economy and most certainly affect the downfall of our stock market.

This Senate bill was a good strategy, rather than waiting and prolonging aid, which could cause more damage and increased cost. Immediate stimulus could prevent further the damage, and could help normalize our economic condition.

If more aid is needed then that could be resolved by another aid bill later. Urgent attention is now needed in the economy to prevent prolonged economic downfall and outbreak.

Failure of the Senate passage of the $1.4 trillion, now further drags down the stock market. The democrats and MSM, have more reasons to blame the president.

Gosh, talk about devoted orange sheep..

Even after the results of 3 years of orangedom, you still support the subjection of yourselves..

This, excerpt from an email has some dated info.. but the message is current as of the senate attempted ripoff..

The main reason why is that Trump, Mnuchin and the GOP want a coronavirus relief package that includes $500 billion, which would be provided to corporations at the discretion of Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin. The bill would permit Mnuchin to withhold the names of corporate recipients for up to six months.

Translation: Trump wants a half-trillion dollar slush fund to boost and protect favored companies—like the Trump Organization—and corporate executives with no meaningful protections for workers, while they continue to pull down huge paychecks and fire their workers.

Sen. Jeff Merkley explains why Senate Democrats blocked Mitch McConnell's corrupt coronavirus stimulus bill, "This is absolutely the worst of the worst when it comes to essentially corporate corrupt slush fund strategy. "

So Trump aka the Grand Wizard Grifter, would use that same corporate slush fund to reward first of all himself, his friends and punish his enemies. There will be no oversight or transparency because the Treasury Department will defy subpoenas for documents and witnesses.

Not so fun fact: Once the six months expired and as we have seen with so much with his administration, they would likely declare this information classified, and Trump for all we know would have received more than the value of his businesses.

So this is a nonstarter for the Democrats and rightfully so. Workers need to be protected first!

And before I forget; despite the entire country and the world is suffering from the coronavirus pandemic and as a direct result the economy collapsing, Trump and the GOP are still vigorously trying to take away healthcare from 20 million Americans.

In other words: Today’s Republicans hate the idea of poor and working-class Americans getting the health care they need. A Republican can’t enjoy his dinner unless he knows someone is going without one…

It’s all about the cruelty.

I suffered a brief moment of insanity thinking the dem's would do something besides block the GOP and this president. I am now fully recovered and have no expectations of anything different than the past three years.

Well, of course, as a Trump hater you'd like some assurances that the economy will continue to fail after the mythology of this virus threat is finally revealed.
