Doesn't the pike have too many bones in it and it also has a fishy taste to it as well. Walleye is easily filleted and the meat has a mild taste to it and if filleted properly there is no bones in the meat as well. I will take walleye over pike any day of the week.

I haven’t had walleye in years. I do remember it was very easy to fillet. I’m hungry now. Lol

My guide told me while he was cleaning my fish that many people don't keep Pike because they don't know how to get the bones out , but I sat right there and watched him do it .
He said a lot of people will just give him their Pike catch !

He said his Dad says once you eat Pike , Walleyes will be just trash fish

Noon today I had a mess of Perch Mmmm

When I was young my aunt and uncle had a home in Grand Marie Minnesota which is about 40 miles south of the Canadian border. I used to go up there in the early summer and go walleye fishing and trout fishing. If they ever caught a large northern or muskie the would give it to the natives and the natives would grind it up and make fish sticks out of it. That is all that I know about cleaning and fixing pike. Walleye and perch are relatives.

Don't really know to break this to you but a' Walleye' is a pike. As in Northern Pike and Walleye Pike.
