My wife just drew my attention to the news... It was FOX, but I didn't recognize which show...

They interviewed a young woman in Washington state who contacted the virus... She reported it on February 25 the and didn't get her results back until earlier this week... A two week period...

Regardless... That's not my point...

They went on to report that there are 457 cases in Washington State with 31 deaths to date...

That's a 7% mortality rate... Which is more than twice the rate the rest of the world is experiencing...

Which leads to two possibilities..

1. The American healthcare system sucks..

2. There are more than twice the number of infected people than is being reported...

The first is a possibility...

But the second is frightening...

Quit your bickering and pull together...

No more of this bullshit trying to sneak crap into bills meant to fight the coronavirus...

No more idiotic finger pointing at Trump or Obama...

No more...

My prayers for all... God bless...

Is Washington state the place where the group of elderly people died in the nursing home?

Our heath system does not suck. But, in places where there is a high homeless rate, like Washington and California, many illnesses go unreported. You may notice that states with sanctuary cities will have a few things in common; homelessness, higher unemployment, drug abuse, deaths from unknown pathogens, and disease that include a wide range of bacteria and virus.

To solve the problem, those cities need to stop using illegals, clinically insane, or other homeless people as propaganda machines for elections. If they are going to declare themselves as a sanctuary then they must find in their own budget safety nets that include housing, food, medical screening and treatment, and a method for obtaining meaningful employment. This is the only way forward for those cities. As it is, homeless people defecate on the streets, do not have facilities to bathe or wash clothing, and many do not wash even their hands. If they come in contact with a disease, they share it...not just with other homeless, but with well meaning people who give them money. Recall, the coronavirus can live for hours on stainless steel, imagine how long it can live on silver or paper money. That money, now contaminated, gives a dose of disease to storekeepers as the homeless infected buy their soda and beer, the shop keeper in turn shares it with customers as the contaminated money is given as change. Those people go home, sharing the disease with each individual they shake hands and reaching home, they share it with family and friends. Not everyone will get sick, some develop asymptomatic infection and becomes a Typhoid Mary.

Right now, those cities should be put under strict quarantine until the disease becomes manageable with pharmaceuticals or mutates into a form that average people can fight. In the meantime, get the homeless into more sanitary conditions.

The House seem to use every bill to get their pet legislation passed. I think bills should never have "add ons" or unrelated request for funding.

I just caught this because my wife drew my attention to it... She likes FOX and MSNBC... Helps her practice her English and takes her mind off things...

Excellent points... My wife was just saying the same thing... She imagines in California the virus will be impossible to contain, due to the homeless and illegals...

The virus has been observed to survive on paper money for days.. In many places over here paper is no longer accepted and all transactions are electronic... The government in Hubei province has collected millions of bills and disinfected them...

I agree completely about "add ons"... I read that there was something concerning abortion tagged onto the original bill concerning relief for the coronavirus... It made me sick...

The reason I ask that is because it can 'skew' the statistics....

What a "convenient" way to introduce a cashless society. You're not paying attention Canuckus.

We've been cashless for almost ten years Parky...

Rarely use paper money....

90% of transactions are digital now...

I keep some at home because I don't overly like having all my eggs in one basket... But the future is coming...

Thanks , C.D. - most of us have been flying in the dark...and doing a pretty good job with what little we have ( virus-data and certain supplies ). I'm in South Florida , where hurricanes come to call. Many of us are of the mindset of preparedness. However , the new behavior is a little hard to adapt to. "Social Distancing" they call it. Touching others , constant hand-washing ( what do I do when I get home and have to remove my shoes? ) ,
and cancellations.
Conspiracy theories have sprung up ...(population-control ,weaponry ) and of course the blaming of one man for the whole thing.
Yesterday the President announced a very practical union of the private and public sectors to develop and distribute relief. I have a new pride in my country. Many restrictions on the medical community have been lifted , and a lot of bureaucracy has been shoved aside to get this aid on the streets.
Let the blame-game come when the storm has passed... The how's and why's don't matter TODAY. Americans have been listening to political bullshit for almost four years, now.
I've got bigger problems TODAY. But I'm taking notes...
God Bless you and yours , Brother.

Back at you Billy...

We've been removing our shoes outside, and immediately sterilizing our hands after we enter the apartment... Then we change socks and put them directly in the washing machine... Along with the gloves we wear outside...

I just listened to Trump speak to a group of reporters and I didn't find fault with him... Although a few answers could have been more thorough....

I think this is an excellent opportunity for many nations to improve and learn more about vulnerabilities....

You stay safe
