Strawman (dumb) argument. Not everyone’s house will catch fire. Nearly everyone will use healthcare at sometime.
I’m also responsible for paying for the Fire Insurance that protects me from damages.

You do realize you are arguing with a person (maybe, possible troll) of great and awesome ignorance right !!!!!!

Thanks for your kindness. One never knows when one little word can tip a balance!

Some things are looking up.

My new BCBS Medicare Advantage plan has a Silver Sneaker program that covers an excercise class at the YMCA! I'm eager to get out. They may have a Yoga class too!

And a Social Worker is to call next week about assisting with transportation....

I can't see how that absolves Christians from this charge. If, as many if you claim, you consider this a "Christian Nation," would it not follow that its RIGHTEOUS governance should reflect this CRUCIAL Christian principle?

Or are you advocating just building bigger barns to store your bounty, eating, drinking and making merry while others perish for want of your help?

Why is an unholy apostate preaching, AGAIN!

Ok, there must be some liqour in this house, somewhere. And it's gotta be happy hour somewhere on the globe.

Cheers.

You must know that medical care, like college, became more expensive with government intervention.

From my vantage point it seems that the efforts to diminish or destroy the notion that this is a Judeo/Christian nation has resulted in the decline of "charitus." An impersonal bureaucracy is a poor substitute for warm human hearts and hands, yet today many prefer a cold impersonal expensive bureaucracy.

It routinely takes about two years for a disability case to be evaluated, appealed, reevaluated, and then reviewed by an Administrative Law Judge. One can not access SNAP, similar to the Medicaid because until you are adjudicated, you apt to be determined to be "able bodied!" And required to pay back the benefits.

My son tried twice.

They only allow one to recover back benefits to the date of injury or illness up to the limit of a 12 month period.

Thus THE PROCESS includes at least a 12 month period of homelessness, starvation and medical indigency for ALL APPLICANTS, who are not immediately recognizable as medically disabled, and fast tracked, like blindness or an amputated limb. This isn't always clear for truly disabled mentally ill people, due to the assumption all mental illness is resulting from or associated with illicit recreational drugs.

Unless someone else charitably absorbs the cost of supporting them, they die, I guess. Or move to San Francisco.

I am aware of the difficulties when trying to get state assistance in any capacity. In my pro bono work I help a number of unwed mothers with children trying to get snap, Medicaid, housing, and in some rare instances true help for their addiction whether it be the monster they’re living with or the drugs they consume trying to cope with it all... Referrals from the state attorneys office with these mothers facing losing their children etc. They needed independent housing but weren’t willing to give up the monster creating most of her difficulties. They failed to fill out paperwork in a timely fashion which is what I was there to do for them, the problem being I needed them to help with the answers, dob, where born etc but didn’t get that either.

I don’t mean to sound crass here
I’m just thinking about what they took with little concern (mostly for their children for me)in comparison to your son...

Then we look at a case such as your sons and I wonder why there are so few of those turned over to help him get the assistance needed... You define it most clearly and show the need for change!! Someone who is actually trying. Another inequity, Sing~~ You would be a great moderator to consult with or testify on behalf of true experiences, no less..

I’m being serious here. Not sure I get the whole human right and healthcare to line up. Does that make me responsible for my neighbors healthcare?

The only right I see is if your old or disable there should be clinics for people but a right that the government and ultimately us pay for the ones to lazy to work I dont think so clinic works just fine

yes, she would the fact that her son's situation is deemed acceptable blows me away situations like this are the ones that should be labeled as an extreme emergency and placement pushed to the head of the list. When my husband walked out and left us I ended up living with his mother good thing we got along. But I was pushed to the bottom of the list for housing because I had an acceptable living arrangement but Me and 3 kids were sleepin on the floor in one bedroom because thats all she had availeable. My mother in law took me by the hand and said let me show u how it's done and we went back the next day she told me to keep my mouth shut and look scared. We went back into the office I'd been in the day before and she started yelling which I had never heard her do telling these people If they didn't get this bitch out of her house me and the kids would be living on the street and she walked out I was just standing there shocked along with the office people the lady grabbed my hand told me they had a duplex opening up in 3 days that I could move in as soon as they made repairs so 5 days. When I went out and got in the car we drove off she went and bought us a hamburger smiled said when do you get your own place I told her she laughed gave me a big hug told me she loved me and that I needed to know how to get what I needed. Loved that woman she's passed I really miss her

ON THE OTHER HAND, (How many hands is that now?) I no longer have any contact with my grand daughter, whose Mom has moved and whose new mate is much like those you have just described.

Sometimes you just gotta let it go.

I'm planting early bulbs, crocuses, daffodils, this week after I move some daylilies from the bed in front of my house. Also gotta beautify the trash can hiding spot....

My favorite place to sit in the sun and manufacture vitamin D and write long ass posts!

Excellent, excellent!!! Things are looking up and yes, just being out with a mission can bring a smile..❤️

If no Yoga class there, which they usually do have, perhaps one on your TV or computer youtube, etc too ??

I frequently see a mini van going for a neighbor down my street...It takes her to Dr appts and she tells me twice a week, if you sign ip for it, it takes you a park or mall ..She simply doesn’t have the vision to drive now but what an amazing energetic woman she is..I have taken her with me to the grocery store and she runs circles around me!!! She’s 78 and looks in her 60’s lets say..

Hey, there, you mean old lady! Hope you are well!

I think we need a new way of taking care of vulnerable folk. And improve the efficiency of the system for everyone.

Medicare For All takes existing structures and expands on methods to overcome cost issues. It is a Social program, that doesn't HAVE to be a Socialist agenda (if only Capitalists could get over themselves and their insecurities!) and actually could preserve or improve a life you love.

Like the EBT card, that just looks like a regular credit card, reducing the stigma of the "food stamps" displayed at checkout.

Or some way to keep from the "deserved lunch program" kids being identified and targeted by the class bully or singled out for embarrassment by the staff.

A beautiful place for that much needed vitamin D in its natural form!!

Oh dang it we are still in snow with more coming in tomorrow that will last through Monday morning. Our mountain hi~lands iare averaging 2 feet a weekend which is good for water supply later.

I can’t wait to get out planting I even have my parts already and lined up in the garage. Got about four bags of soil I need to mix when I’m able to start. Our gardens are Lifesavers, bring that inner peace and outward Beauty we need...I Envy you but sure am glad you get to get out and do it just be careful with that neck and shoulder...

We all face challenges I wish there was something we could do to help her you dealing with that field would have better ideas but I don't envy your work because I know you face many who are ungrateful or feel the system owes them me I'd probably slap them silly I've a daughter In law that is a social worker and just got fired for going off on the office in general to heavy of a load being called out at all hours she said she made better money at sams and had better hours. But felt guilty to not be using her degree

Beautiful photo!

We have had snow flurries twice this week, but the temperature is 30 to 40's.

Just a matter of time. I've seen the cardinals start to strut their stuff and baby squirrels are out and cautiously sunning themselves.

Yea those are great ideas just don't want the fed government in control of healthcare. expanding medicare is fine but like someone else said we have medicare and people in my state have an insurance pool for existing health problems we also have the health dept and clinics so everyone should be covered BY THE STATE which this makes it smaller and easier to control federal control would make it a giant disaster in my opinion these states need to pick up and carry their own load
