Stars and Stripes, the newspaper of the American military, has been a staunch supporter of conservatism and the military for 60 years. Therefore it should come as no surprise that Trump hates the newspaper.

It has been critical of his policies that gut support for veterans, show disrespect to our soldiers and sailors, and undercut our position in the world.

Exactly. It’s not like today’s servicemen can’t get their news online. Or through other printed sources. I’m waiting for Trump to announce he’s cutting all government funding for NPR and PBS. Two lefty radio stations that would cease to exist if they’re not shored up by taxpayer funding.

It is not simply news of the world it is about news for the military. it is very focused in its selection of news and the information is very relevant to all in the military..

In no way can it be compared to civilian news papers..

Losing it would be a slap in the face for all those who serve..

Sorry - I disagree. Yes it had a lot of content; however, as with all newspapers, it is falling by the wayside. See the other person's comments about news sources available on line. Here's the one I consider the best:

Seem you do have a point.. as an old geezer, i never manage to keep up with tech stuff.. the site on your link seems to be what most would follow now days.. so if the paper media has been replaced even in the military.. then it makes no sense to keep the old and tried but now eclipsed..

but I like the several papers from the time I served..
