My first concern is whether this is really a safe place for those of us who do not agree with the general direction of today’s politics. I’m not sure if I suffer from paranoia or just plain old common sense. Also not very savvy technologically so I am hampered by that lack of skill. Anyway hi all, here I am for better or worse.

Aw dragonrider welcome to opp today there is no safe places and if a safe place is what you crave you're going to have a problem here we hash out the politics of yesteryears and todays we do tend to get heated BUT we share mimes , jokes pics, and common problems we all have and give each other advice. So here's hoping you decide to stick around. You will learn a great deal here people research, research and do more research and share ask for opinions . But for the most part, hope you have fun

Welcome from two people who do not agree with much of what is going on in government or the public schools and universities. Hopefully you will find some people with whom you can have a reasonable conversation.
By the way, we do not suffer from paranoia, we highly enjoy it.

by the way She Who Must Be Obeyed was a character in a novel written by H. Ryder Hazard many years ago, but was SWMBOs reference to those people who trained their dogs in her obedience classes. Her policy is When you tell a dog to do something he knows how to do, disobeying in NOT an choice.

There is no "safe place" on political websites.
Expecting such is counterproductive to potential growth.
I'm interested in what you consider "the general direction of today's politics".
"Common Sense" is wholly subjective to one's particular ideological inclinations
and one person's "common sense" is another's "nonsense".
My only hope is that people try to understand that INSULTS ARE NOT ARGUMENTS
and that disagreement is as American as apple pie.

We have a few truly fringe people on OPP and they have never reported problems..
