A joke from long ago and far away...

When Mr. Smith and his lovely assistant were traveling on business, they checked into a hotel that was overbooked and were told they’d have to share a room for one night. After the initial awkwardness, they tucked into separate beds.

“Mr. Smith,” the assistant called out in the dark, “I’m chilly. Would you mind getting me a blanket?”

“I have a better idea,” Mr. Smith replied. “Why don’t we pretend we’re married, just for tonight?”

“I’d like that,” said the assistant.
“Good,” said Mr. Smith. “Then get your own blanket.”

Didn't we have a conversation over a year about "the truth don't hurt?" 😁
