This can go down as a, sad but true, or just a good giggle. Either way a good laugh.

Trump sent a retired teacher a letter about gun policy. She fixed the grammar and sent it back.

"If I had received this from one of my students,” Yvonne Mason said, “I would have handed it back without a grade on it and said, 'I hope you left the real one at home.' ”

The same could be said of many OPP posters. Does imperfect grammar necessarily indicate bad policy or does being overly critical of imperfect grammar indicate a lack of really serious and authentic points of contention?

What strikes me more is how petty this teacher is to do that.

This section is supposed to be free of politics. Why is it so hard for people to honor that?

I correct people sometimes. (I used to be a proofreader in the days before spell check). Mostly I correct people who directly or indirectly try to flaunt some sort of imagined intellectual superiority while they make 5th grade spelling and punctuation mistakes.

Or friends with crappy Chinese auto corrects who don't bother to proof read their posts

Bitch...

Did you check the corrections Peter?

She was just being bitchy...

The letter would have passed in any classroom today... Including university...

Trump didn't write that. He dictated it. Some secretary typed it up. A lot can happen in the tranlation.

Bad grammar and spelling says something about the person. ( careless, sloppy?). That kind of attitude carries over to policy. Having said that, there are exceptions to every rule..

I believe the president of the United States should have a greater grip on the English language than OPP posters. That is a really low bar for comparison. Trump calls himself a very stable genius. Others, who know him well, call him a rampaging dimwit. I hope his spelling and mood improve before he starts launching missiles.

One Political Plaza is the home of politics. The teacher was probably just toying with dopey Trump.

Main is for politics. Chit Chat is not and it says that in the section heading.

General Chit-Chat (non-political talk)

Who is talking about tweets? Try to stay topic. Back to the Octopod for you Dashy. Say hi to Quasi.
