Depends how you look at it...
It has infected a relatively small number of people.. But has a mortality rate much higher than most flus (2%)... The SARS virus (also a Cironaviri) infected far fewer people, but had a much higher mortality rate (10%)...
The problem is that the Novel Coronavirus seems more virulent than other viri... And can be transmitted via multiple vectors....
Imagine a nationwide epidemic where 2% (over 5 million) American citizens died...
