Nurse Frances Carroll and me.

in 1959 I spent the summer with her. She was a nurse during the depression and passed around 1965. I learned so many interesting historical things from her.
One of the heirs of the Levi Strauss families required 24/7 health care and she was his nurse for many years. Although he was involved in the family business he was basically home bound.
He very often asked her about advice for investing family money in their charities. She often went to meetings when he could not attend. He had told her that a person makes money when they sell investments they really make it when they make tthe investment. Because if don't buy it right you lose profit when you sell. That is the same advice I heard from Donald Trump later.
Near the end of FDR'S life she cared for him and lived in his mansion. She told me interesting things about people whom she met and things that happened there.
