That's just beyond stupid.

It's a fact that many who the republicans might subpoena will resist or refuse. When that happens the republicans will go through channels and thus it drags on for years. Many of the witnesses the democrats are going to want to call will represent conflicts of executive privilege, a court battle ensues and it drags out for years.

The only way this can work is for the evidence presently in hand be presented, otherwise, we will be doing this for years. How, pray tell, are your democrat Senators to campaign for president when they are tied down in the Senate for months or years??? The democrats chose this path from the start and itis the path that will be followed by the senate; Their way or the highway.

This is what happens when impeachment is totally partisan!!
That's just beyond stupid. br br It's a fact that... (show quote)

Bolton stated that he would appear before the Senate as would those already deposed by Congress and are any who are willing to testify for Trump going to take their football and go home? There are no shortages of people to testify--this can be over in a matter of weeks, not years...

So you're qualified to make that determination based on your extremely limited knowledge? Did you forget that the President was interested in Ukrine corruption before he released the money? Did you forget Joe bragging about his own quid pro quo? Do you really believe Joe knew nothing about his son's businesses in Ukraine and China.

What I remember is the President was only interested in his own corrupt intentions to bribe a foreign leader to benefit his own personal election campaign before he released the money. Many witnesses confirmed that fact at the impeachment hearings.

Excuse me but if you watched the House impeachment lynching, and understood what you were watching, you couldn't possibly come to the conclusions you do. The Senate can further investigate if they so desire.
The Outhouse cannot dictate to the Senate what they must do although your evil high priestess believes they can.

This is what happens when a president obstructs Congress from performing its duties. This impeachment article should be a slam dunk in the Senate unless Trump continues to obstruct.

The Senators should make their decision based on the articles of impeachment and the evidence the House Democrats used to pass them. It is not up to the Senate to help the House prove its case. The House must prove Trump guilty. It is not up to Trump or the Senate to prove him innocent. If the House cannot prove its case now without additional witnesses then it proves the impeachment was a farce. Of course, Democrats idea of fairness is that everything must be done their way.

Actually that is ridiculous, if for no other reason that the white house and DOJ actively withheld documents and obstructed the investigation by telling witnesses not to talk. As a trial model the senate has an obligation to present the facts like a prosecutor would in a trial. Break it down, apply the dynamics of what that is as opposed to what the house did. The house was finding the evidence, and had we had an unbiased DOJ they would have been doing the heavy lifting on the facts and providing that evidence to the house without drawing conclusions, which is for the house to do.

The house had enough evidence to proceed, but documents they should have been fully provided are coming out through other FOIA and court challenges. Every bit of evidence coming out is cementing the case against trump, and if there is anything that exonerates him that needs to be presented by the white house defense team.

It is called politics. All political parties are all about “acquisition of power”

There is a power for good and there is a power hell bent on doing evil.

Not one republican in the House agreed with either of the Articles of Impeachment. Sorry dude, your party is out of control.

I hope the Senate will desire to see additional documents and will call additional witnesses who will help the jury decide either for or against the impeached president. That would be normal procedure. With Trump involved, it's anybody's guess. McConnell has already said this process will not be normal or fair. The cover up will likely continue.

It is up to the senate to act as an impartial jury, to look at everything that pertains to what went on including evidence that goes against the president. It is the job of the senate to get out of the way of getting to the truth, it is not their job to defend the president and continue to obstruct justice.

The senate and people of this country know that evidence does not support this president, it only makes him look worse as we find out more and more. Trump was operating in violation of the law, and many many people were telling him and the involved parties doing so that they were. The efforts this administration went to to cover that up shows that they knew this was the case, including the way Barr tried to make this go away at the whistleblower stages...which also were violations of the law.

Pariahj. I'd say the hatred of the Dems is so deep; the blowback in the future will return that heat.
Dems established the precedent. Like the Bork and Thomas and Kavanaugh hearings. Payback is almost inevitable.
If there was a moderate/conservative wing maybe not. But when the Dems act like a Stalinist dominated party ( a la Pelosi, Schiff, st al... The future looks very bleak.

Exactly. Both Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress could be highly opinion based as they are both very vague which, of course, is why those two "charges" were selected.

Funny but, every single republican in House disagrees with you.
