A big thing against suicide is that even if we are without hope--terminal, Alzheimer, disgraced, out of options--we can still inspire: I needed a good friend to remind me of that.

I needed a good friend to remind me of that. (Wish I had thought of it.)

My prognosis had me once again thinking about taking up residence in Oregon. A gruesome end. Yikes! Very, very tempting. But what would be my final statement about life and my faith? It is the period at the end of my sentence here, but what does that sentence say?

I would like something of an exclamation point. Not drama-queen, though I earned it. A little more uptown. Sainthood, perhaps. Or rescue, a reprieve to live forever. God, if you get me out of this one...

Facing the finale with dignity, courage, good cheer, and trusting in God's will. Not sure I can do that. Will I be a disappointment to my family and friends that love me? No. They love me and will understand. Do not like that much, actually. Hey, damn it, expect more of me and be pissed when I fail. They are too forgiving.

So my prayer: Let be a true inspiration on this journey.

My prayer is that you find peace. Your opinions here are very......heated. And I hope you can pull yourself away from that as you advance to the end of your days. We all are advancing to the end of our days in one way or another. And the truth is....we are all going to die. What we do with that knowledge is our personal path that we take (or that we've been given) to deal with. God bless the road that carries you.

Thank you EmilyD. Perhaps my getting heated is wrong or ill-advised. I don't have a lot of time to make a point for Jesus and truth. That will sound like hubris. But I only know my faith as a person in Christ and not Christ.

If you believe you are being true to your inner beliefs, then who am I or anyone else to contradict you. You surely do make legitimate contributions that I can see. I may not agree with all you opine, but I do read your posts because they are not tripe.
