I have never considered Obama black...
He is half white and raised by a white mother...

Are you being deliberately obtuse?

...and after that? 8 years of hostile racially tinged abuse, much of it on display here on OPP. Obama was not a perfect President, none of them are, but he and his wife showed some class by not retaliating or indulging in self pity and whining. Quite a contrast...
This is taken from your link. The memo was written by David Axelrod. Your claim that Obama “agreed” to using character assassination is misleading, but hardly surprising.
“She's driven by political calculation not conviction, regularly backing away and shifting positions ... She embodies trench warfare vs Republicans, and is consumed with beating them rather than unifying the country and building consensus to get things done. She prides herself on working the system, not changing it," the October 2007 memo added.
The memo was written by David Axelrod, a political adviser, as Obama's nomination campaign stalled against Hillary Clinton during the height of the 2008 Democratic nomination process.
Rather than fight out their differences in policy, Mr Axelrod told Obama that the only way to secure a defeat was to attack Mrs Clinton's character. The goal was to paint Obama as the "authentic 'remedy' to what ails Washington and stands in the way of progress" and to discredit his main rival in the process.
"It may not be her fault, but Americans have deeply divided feelings about Hillary Clinton, threatening a Democratic victory in 2008 and insuring another four years of the bitter political battles that have plagued Washington for the last two decades and stymied progress," the memo added.“

You are entitled to your “considerations”
but The 20% of African Americans in the "mostly mixed" group (2.7% of US population) have between 25% and 50% European ancestry. Most of the latter group self identify as Black.

They can self identify any way they like...
I have native blood and don't identify as an Indian..
The point is that identifying with only half of one's blood is disingenuous...
I've met "blacks" whose blood is whiter than mine...
Class my ass. Of course you didn't hear anything bad because it's the libs that stoop to that level not the conservatives.

The point is if you look distinctly African American regardless of blood percentages you will usually self identify as black. Same is true for mixed race people who look white.
