Red flag laws accuses you and then you have to prove your innocence. But the constitution says that all men are innocent until proven guilty so in my opinion the red flag laws are unconstitutional. They would have to change the constitution to make the red flag laws legal and they have a slim to nil chance of doing that.

They just come to your house and confiscate all of your guns and then it is up to you to prove the accuser to be in the wrong. Plus lucky you, you get to pay all of your attorneys fees as well.

You will probably receive one of those 2:00 A.M. house calls where they break in your door as a way of telling you that they are there.

The Red Flag laws violate 4 of the BILL OF RIGHT LAWS. It needs to go to the Supreme Court.

My sister pulled that crap on me, said I had threatened my father that was in a retirement home. Cops came to the door, asked if they could come in and I said sure. They said what they were there for so we talked about how she was under fire for stealing money from my father's estate as executor. They talked for maybe 45 minutes, said my father had not corroborated this. They went to her and told her they were going to put her in cuffs and arrest her for false charges if she didn't come clean about what was going on. She started crying and told them she was mad at me for putting legal pressure on me and wanted to cause me as much credibility problems as possible. They called me and asked if I wanted to press charges, and I regret not doing so, the bitch ripped me for over three hundred thousand dollars of my inheritance.

It depends on who makes charges and how credible they are. If they are credible, you have a history of violence, you posted threats on social media, witnesses heard threat or corroborated, yes, this is exactly what should happen. This is going to affect far more violent people than innocent people someone is falsely accusing.

They won't be at your home if you aren't posting stupid things or making unhinged threats, so don't worry about it. It's something that needs to happen whether you like it or not.

Absolutely RIGHT !!! He also came up with his 'Safe Act', it contained all the practices of a responsible owner of firearms. + Read the fine print. Also check out N.Y.S. Assembly Act 9191. Coming to a governor nearyou !

If my neighbor threatens to shoot me or someone I know I expect the police to intervene and take their guns to prevent me from having to protect myself.

Yeah sure. Another story.

Red flag laws have already been abused. Used to be liberals protected individual freedoms. Those liberals are almost extinct.

Look up St. George Tucker about 'self defense' & your right to self defense. If the guy next door is a habitual drunk who breaks out his gun & poses ANY THREAT by all means notify the police. I like to believe most of the folks on OPP would stand shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement no matter which side of the coin you're on ! The problem is the politicos & the unconstitutional laws they create. il duce cuomo got the legislature up at 02:00 to get the new bridge named after his father, now it's the 'cuomo' bridge. No ego there is there ? That's the problem, the PTB pit honest, law abiding citizens at odds with law enforcement. It's up to U. S. civilian, law enforcement & the military to abide & defend the GREATEST DOCUMENT ever written, THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. It's a mine field out there, be careful where you tread !!!
