How To End the Drug Cartel Violence in Mexico

Nine Americans-including three women and six children-were gunned down by drug cartel members in Mexico’s northern state of Sonora. Eight young children survived the gunmen’s attack. Although violence of this type occurs in Mexico on a regular basis this attack caught the attention of the American news media due to the citizenship of those killed. They were U.S. citizens with dual Mexican citizenship. And it was a horrible attack.

Both President Trump and Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) have come up with solutions to stop the cartel violence.

President Trump made his solution very clear in the following tweet:

“If Mexico needs or requests help in cleaning out these monsters, the United States stands ready, willing & able to get involved and do the job quickly and effectively,” Trump tweeted. “The great new President of Mexico has made this a big issue, but the cartels have become so large and powerful that you sometimes need an army to defeat an army!”

Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador refused the offer and proposed his own solution-“hugs not bullets.” Obrador also thinks that helping the poor is in some way going to affect the way the drug cartels operate.

Both leaders are dead wrong. There is only one way to end the drug cartel violence in Mexico and that is to end the drug war by legalizing all drugs immediately. This would also end the drug violence we see in cities across the United States. When alcohol prohibition was ended we didn’t see Coors and Budweiser shooting it out on the street for territory. They had courts to take care of business. They no longer needed mobsters. And when drugs are legalized we will see the same peaceful transition.

The drug war industrial complex is very big and very powerful. There are only a few politicians who would dare to propose legalization of all drugs. But this is what is needed if we want to end the cartel violence in Mexico and here in the United States.

The cartel violence we have seen take thousands upon thousands of lives in Mexico is blowback from our failed domestic policy on drugs. It is the U.S. demand for drugs that drives the market and the violence. We are at least partially responsible for the failed Mexican state. A state where every politician and every policeman are corrupt.

As a former frontline drug warrior I know ending the drug war is the only way out of this mess. All the task forces, narcotics courts, and military cooperation will not stop it.

End the drug war now!

These A**Holes live in mansions.
Bomb the hell out of them!

AND;
as the rats scramble, follow them to their other rat nests, and take them out, just like we do to the terrorists in the Middle East.
Then take away the profit motive. Legalize their product.

War on drugs was failed from the get go !

Kids at a young age should have been taught about the danger in all drugs and encouraged to say no I believe that would have had a large impact but not completely stop some kids from not taking them !

Legalizing all drugs will only make matter worse alcohol has cause many heart aches for families and individuals my couisn is a prime example as he ended up being an alcoholic for the better part of his life but he has now been 20 yrs dry !

Now drugs I don't believe for one minute that legalizing them will stop the pain and suffering of the families that these drug users that get addicted to them !

Mind altering drugs will still have an effect by causing child abuse spousal abuse loosing one's job the list goes on and on !

Drug cartels can be wiped out but only if there is a direct desire to do so by pulling out all the stops and catching or killing them !

Mexico follows the rule of law as we do and is no more likely to drop bombs on a suspected drug dealers house than we would on the house of a known Russian mobster in Oceanside or a Mafia Dons on Statin Island.

Switzerland has handled narcotics addiction by not only legalizing the drugs but giving them away for Those addicted to use for free. Their are places provided for users to get a fix with pharmaceutical grade heroin in safe doses with supervision this has destroyed the black market and saved lives. Of course treatment is offered for those who want to quit. This could be done here with resources shifted from law enforcement and prisons to treatment and education. People who chose to get high could do so without legal repercussions. This won’t happen here not because of pushback from what Baeza refers to as the drug industrial complex, it will be blocked by our corporate overloards. we live in a consumer society and a couple thousand calories of food a day is pretty easy to come by. People who are stoned are not very good consumers of much but narcotics and basic substance. Your average junkie could care less about options to add on a new pickup, a fancy watch, designer clothing or a McMansion and as such are not going to bust their ass working at some crappy job to buy such bobbles. This would never be accepted by the greed heads who need people to chase the carrot on the stick and buy the resulting crap that is produced.

Sounds like a plan lieawatha warren would implement if she becomes president. Free drugs for all. With $54 trillion in health care for all and an additiinal $$64 trillion in free drugs for all, our national debt would be so large that if you loaded that up on one side of Guam, the island would tip over, like congressman Johnson projected.

The other issue in Mexico is guns. 70% of guns confiscated by the police from Mexican criminals were originally purchased in the US.

Those guns were sent free of charge ( not really, the American taxpayer footed the expenses as usual) from the corrupt ovommit and Eric holder. Fast and furious implemented the murder of many innocents in Mexico.
