Definition of serve no purpose : to have no particular use or function : to not be useful or helpful in any way .
Without Sin we have no Tempering of our Souls. Adam and Eve were without Sin, but their Curiosity ended that, Maybe that is why God Placed the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden?
Knowledge meant Sinning? (going against God)… or Knowing the difference between Right and Wrong
I do. I also believe hardship serves a purpose. Without hardship we don't strive. Without striving we don't grow. Most sin stems from fear. Fear of hardship, fear of loss, lack of belief in self, so fear of failure. So we sin by trying to take the easy path, the power path, the safe path. That's my perspective in a nutshell

We agree on this...

I agree with the first part... Although I believe that truth, love, beauty and knowledge are avenues for growth as well....
Like the "tempering of the soul" metaphor...
Not sure if I would refer to sin as the easy path... Perhaps the more self-centered path?

No, the easy path. When you're fearful you try to do the easy thing - which is most often the dead wrong thing. I agree that beauty, knowledge etc are also avenues of growth. But those dont quite connect to the sin thing (topic)

I don't know... Beauty, knowledge, etc can lead to sin as well...
