Appropriation bills begin in the Democrat controlled House. Where is their balanced budget plan? They would fight any plan to cut spending.

You are wrong. A plan to cut spending for things to protect our people and our borders would be celebrated and voted for by all "progressives" However, any plan to provide people with services that they do not need and haven't earned but will get more vote for progressive candidates would be voted for and doubled if possible.

The tax cuts that increased the deficits did not come from the Democrats. Both Houses of Congress were controlled by Republicans.

But don't let facts get in the way of spin....

Or not taxing. My theory is that if we actually had to pay for the spending (yes, tax and spend) then we'd be much further along in having to decide what we, as a nation, really want to pay for. Borrow and spend keeps us from having to confront those choices.

It's actually a fairly conservative position, this tax and spend. Pay now for what you buy.

I agree...

But it is my understanding that this would lead to not everyone getting what they want

I read that 2018 was a record year for government income derived from taxes...

Seems to me spending is the issue driving the deficit... Not tax breaks...
