I am one who can call my self part of the right people if I wished.
I say wish to stress that we need to have a system that has room for all.
As a older white male in the past I just accepted my white privileges' with out question.
At about six years old. (!942-43 I saw a colored lady drink from a water bubbler that was mark colored next to one that was marked white. The first colored person I had ever seen.
After the lady left I went & took a drink from both faucets.
I could not tell any difference

I just went home to my white roots.
This has stuck with me through the years.

At about 22 years old I went for a job interview:
I don't recall seeing any white faces.
Just lots of black faces.
Many just milling around outside.
People went in & people came out.
I questioned my self for hang around. But I did & my turn came & they took me in for a physical & told me I had a job.

I was greatly relived to find I was called in for a difference job for the next day. One that was hiring both black & white.
So I had a job.

Late in the year I was drafted into the army. Where my whiteness lead to a job in a personnel office of a Battalion. One day a black person showed up to be a part of the offices. He just was gone in a flash.
I had not had the training for that job & the black man did.

I am not clear in just how & when the issue became an issue for me.
I will just say that I try to treat every one I meet with respect.

I am faced with some in my own family that I feel sure do not agree with me.

For what ever it is worth we need to treat each other with the respect we wish to receive from others..

I just feel that there needs to be room in our system where all have a chance to be an effective part of the whole.

Being white and drafted didn't too well for me. But I did learn to shoot little yellow people.

You don't read what people write very closely.

I am just saying in a nation where there is a well blended mix of both conservative & liberal views there should be room for most different views people have on life.
It would be best if those views were moderate.
Rather the extremism that there is today.

I say there must be trolls on this site that wish to keep us divided.
I also say that in the wish that is to keep us divided.
Is the wish to draw our attention away from what some want todo.

Some people just are afraid to have a personal intellectual thought.
I say afraid because I give them credit for having a working brain.
Dumb but not stupid.
Caring but afraid to offer an original thought.
That is the whole point of dividing the people.

A nation where people follow blindly any one who plays to their inner fears.
Yes that is what Trump is doing.

Then while you are distracted they pick your pocket.
Not just yours but mine also.
Only a few end up with getting back some of what is taken from them.

Agree with your last two sentences,
strongly disagree on what side causes more separation and hate.

Seems to me that Mr. Brown was just stating a opinion. There are people on both sides that think there poop doesn't stink lol and there are many that respect people's opinion. Like Archie and Mr. Brown for example Remember if you have nothing good to say say nothing at all or at least be tasteful about it Proud Republican! and others

Some seem to believe going to church for a day gives them the right to screw over people until the next church visit.
Notice the word some not all.

Why are you taking Moral Standards and implying that they should be Political Standards ??? You are expecting ....more or less...for everyone to 'like/get along' with each other. Being 'Racist' is a moral issue , violent actions that may result because you are 'Racist' are legal ( ie Government ) issues. Giving to the poor is a moral issue, not a Government mandate. Tolerance, which is actually a nebulous term ( ie do you be 'tolerant' to the point of allowing someone to physically hurt you .....OR...do you only be tolerant until someone starts yelling...OR do you be 'Tolerant' by just nodding your head politely...Or do you be tolerant..etc.???). It appears to me that you are mistaking 'Self Righteousness' with the political battle between Constitutionalists vs. Socialists....The Socialists have had a 100year free ride in their march to undo the Constitution. The Constitutionalists have finally had it with the selective morality used to justify illegal 'Judicial Legislative' activities that force everyone to accept precepts that are the whims of 'Black Robes' ....all with the intent of dismantling this country !!! If you call that 'Self Righteous' go ahead...I call it an Illegal takeover of the Republic.....I treat individual people as they deserve to be treated.....Judeo-Christian Religion ( which is frowned upon by those who are 'tolerant) teaches me morals....The Constitution teaches me what is Legal....I don't mix the two together in a faux manner to create the faux illusion of a 'Holy Government"...we are a Republic with defined rules ( ie Constitution)...not an experiment to see if you can fool everyone into making AOC,Talib,Omar,Pressey my 'moral and legal compasses' !!!

I think you are one of the exceptions to most thinking they are righteous. The Righteous Brothers and Jesus Christ were righteous everyone else has some flaw.
