Ditto. We have already paid reparation for more than a century.

The answer to your question is-Most of them haven't had a good education or had the drive to get that education. There are many other Americans, of other races, that haven't been afforded a good education, but with perseverance and the want to better themselves and not bemoan poor me, are making a good living at their jobs. Look at all of the blacks in Congress and other professions that have gone to the most prestigious college's to acquire a great education. No repatriations for anyone, of any race, are needed.

If big business would move into poverty stricken areas.

We would first have to implement a plan to eradicate the violent drug gangs first.

Get community activists promoting the cleaning up and the removal of garbage and filth strewn all about.

Tom, for me...cleaning out these dangerous and unproductive neighborhoods (refuse material and dangerous inhabitants) is paramount to combating the blight of ghettos.

The gangs have a stranglehold on prosperity.

Any descendant of former slaves is free to go back to the country of their ancestors. They don't because being a descendant of slaves has given then higher standards of living and education then if their ancestors never left Africa.

Another thing to consider is they owe their very being to being a descendant of slaves. Their unique DNA would never have existed if they remained in Africa because their is no chance their unique sets of ancestors would ever have actually met and their unique combination of egg and sperm would ever have ever gotten together. They owe their very existence to the slavery of their ancestors.

They already have their reparations, their existence, and being better off, on average, by far, then the descendants of those that stayed behind.

They need to quit whining, get the education that has been offered. and get a job to the best of their abilities and raise a family to do the same. Assimilate into America and quit running around trying to constantly prove that they are black or African Americans. They are Americans who happen to be of Black African ancestry.

Here's something else to keep in mind. The reparations should be going from blacks to people of European descent. Here is why. The first slavers were muzzies, black African where Omar is from and not Palestine. That's really a stupid program anyway.

I was thinking of something, this is off-topic to that. In the Marines, we have a few platitudes; don't leave a mission until it's completed, no man left behind, and the one that got me through three rehabs Marines don't bitch. I'm sure the other branches of service have similar ones. I was trying to reconcile "don't bitch" with a guy who has much better credentials than I do, yet all he does is wa wa wa. If Obama was so good explain this, these are his years.

They shouldn't. Or as the saying goes "You've never picked cotton and I've never owned slaves."

Some nations such as the Ashanti of present-day Ghana and the Yoruba of present-day Nigeria were involved in the slave trade. Groups such as the Imbangala of Angola and the Nyamwezis of Tanzania would serve as intermediaries or itinerant gangs, waging war on the African wstats to capture people for export as slaves. Historians John Thornton and Linda Heywood have provided an estimate of Africans captured and sold to Europeans at around 90% who were sent to the slave trade in the Atlantic. Henry Louis Gates, professor of African and African-American studies at Harvard, has stated that “without complex business alliances between African elites and European merchants and commercial agents, the slave trade in the New World would have been impossible, at least in the scale that became”. Taken from Wikipedia (Slavery in Africa).
Here it can be seen that the African elites were the ones who captured and sold other Africans as slaves. If compensation is claimed, it must fall upon those who deprived the persons of their freedom in order to be sold later as slaves. Those are the causes of slavery. Europeans did not participate in capturing free people to enslave them. They bought those who were already slaves.
Slavery is something horrendous and the transport of slaves to America was terrible; but it must be recognized that all the blame cannot only fall on one part. Also the USA paid a heavy price for the liberation of slaves. There was a Civil War to achieve it and then for another hundred years there were sequels. It is convenient to read the book by Dinesh D’Souza, Death of a Nation, where he holds the Democratic party responsible for this matter.

That's the last way of saying we're not going to talk about the racism issue in this country because they caused all the racial tensions in this country starting with slavery that's the reason why they don't want to debate on it.

Abraham Lincoln freed slaves. A white American President who thought it was wrong. He made it possible for black people to become citizens. Become owners of land and businesses. And he made a lot of southern white businessmen angry. He was assassinated because of it.

Reparations? Really? Blacks are here, living the lives they choose for themselves with ample opportunity given them above others because they are black. If they choose to not take advantage of the opportunities given them, that is their prerogative, but it does not mean they are "entitled" to "free money" because things were bad a long time ago with their ancestors.

Just check out who the people on the "Committee of Reparations" or whatever they are calling themselves, is made up of. They are angling for the vote of black people who they think are so stupid that they will buy their kool aid. Reparations are not going to happen.....but some low life liberal candidates think it will buy them votes.

Don't give in to this scam, my African American friends. They are just trying to hoodwink you. You're not going to get any free money, or a car or a house, or whatever the promise is this time....it's all smoke and mirrors. It's only about votes for 2020.

The first slaves were from Ireland and the Orkneys. My family is descended from German slaves brought to New York.
