Right to Keep & Bear Arms and Right to Vote

The right to keep and bear arms is guaranteed by The Second Amendment to The Constitution, ratified in December 1791. A right to vote is not mentioned until Amendment 24, ratified in 1964. It is an obvious conclusion that a right to keep and bear arms had a higher priority than any right to vote in the minds of The Founders.

Today, gun control advocates, i.e. liberals and progressives, are proposing background checks for gun purchases. Then, aren’t background checks to vote, such as voter ID, at least as justifiable?

That should be answered by those who would restrict our right to have firearms but I won’t hold my breath. The question will likely never be asked. Liberals and progressives might have to think and that might get them flustered.

Candidates who oppose the 2nd amendment should be disqualified.
