In all probability, ALL students who are not self-motivated and encouraged by their parents or a mentor are fairly uneducated, (or perhaps ill-educated would better describe it,) if they attend public schools, regardless of race. And quite frankly over-educated college graduates who can't get a job in their chosen majors of dead languages or other useless choices offered in our left-wing universities and colleges are not good examples of the best and the brightest. The left took over our education system 50 some-odd years ago, corrupting the curriculum, moving away from academics to social engineering. It is much easier to "fundamentally transform" a free society into a statist police state with a dumbed down citizenry. Repeating left-wing talking points is hardly an indication of mental acuity. Regardless of race Trump voters elected someone they thought would stop the Democrat/socialist Party from dragging America into a Venezuelan style socialist nightmare. We all might want to remember what educated AND uneducated citizens who fall for the same failed promises are called...useful idiots.

the only useful idiots seen these days happen to be trumpets who took advantage of those 50 years of curriculum and now only know how to be cheerleaders doing what they're told, nevermind what's correct,
if chuckles, sharpie and dennys the menace say jump it is always how high and howl long, yes fascism is so much better than everything else ,let's do it? they're entertaining after all. no matter grade level. or wait, let's O blue - te rate them, whomever them are, they can't be correct? they "don't smoke the same cigarettes as Me" or have a red id.🤔

Just came out that high school graduates average 22% when proficiency in reading, writing, history, geography, and government studies is averaged. Would you higher a auto mechanic who was only 22% proficient at his job to work on your car? Public schools have failed American children. It’s a disgrace.

Kid's and Teacher's intelligence potential hasn't changed, what has changed is funding of public schools.
Public Schools haven't failed, the GOP has failed America by cutting education across the U.S. in-order to promote Private Schools. Most people can't afford some of these private schools, but the GOP backed wealthy, are being subsidized with their children's education at the expense of the rest of America.
Once again the GOP unsung motto shows true, "I've got mine, screw you".
The wealthy do not want to contribute to the general education as they once used to, they only worry about their own and the increased advantage it gives their children against the badly funded public education system. When they cut funding to schools, you can bet its not to the schools that their kids are attending.

That's funny, I could've sworn that the Dems had been pouring more and more of our hard-earned tax money into public sector schools while their product has continued to decline (a trait of "liberals," I suppose -- instead of fixing a problem, just throw more of the people's money at it. You know, like Obama and Solyndra) at an alarming rate.

And just think, Democrats literally manage and staff the education system.

Now, how about charter schools? Here are schools run on private sector terms, outside the realm of government bureaucrats and teachers unions. They teach, predominantly, black and Latino children from welfare neighborhoods and have an exponentially higher success rate than the government run schools -- yet the Democratic Party fights them tooth and nail. Why? Because A) their campaign donations from teachers' unions are more important to them than the children's futures, and B) better educated minorities are a nightmare for Democrats, it would cost them too many votes.

This anti-charter push really, truly should demonstrate to blacks, for example, who their friends really are: not only are the Dems against charter schools, but so are those blacks who sell out their own people because they need the Dems to keep them relevant, such as the NAACP.

You leftists truly live in your own world with its own brand of reality.

Unfortunately, the reality of your world is simply not compatible with the reality of this one.

Poor argument as those same “wealthy” republicans sending their children to private schools are paying the same millage rate on their property for the public education system that they aren’t even benefitting from. Also, apparently y’all think all republicans are uneducated rednecks, so which is it? We have all the wealth or we are uneducated poor white trash? Make up your mind?

That begs the question, what is the real problem? It happens to be the degradation of the family. No longer are the majority of the kids being raised by both parents: a mother and father..... not a mother and mother or father and father or a whatever and a whatever.... we are all so worried about having so much stuff that mommy goes to work every day and the kids are raised by the school system and the day care and the schools system is more concerned with teaching about 31 different genders then how to teach them what has been right and wrong for 10000 years or how to read and write and figure. They know all about every Kind of debased sex you can think of when they graduate but they can’t add subtract multiply and divide and they can’t read. And God forbid ask them about the constitution or how the government works!!!!!! What do you expect?!?!?!?!

HOME SCHOOL. HOME SCHOOL. HOME SCHOOL. ALL THOSE PROBLEMS WOULD GO AWAY. Yes, there are sacrifices to do this, but the children learn how to read phonetically, do math, spell and real American hitsory and the family is strengthened. And you can forget the thuggish, leftist teacher's uions.

I know a homeschooler, and as you say, she has remarkably more success with her students than the government run school system does with theirs.
