Food Stamp Recipients Drop By 6.2 Million Under Trump Presidency
September 9, 2019 - Leave a Comment

When Donald Trump ran for office in 2016, he vowed to make America great again. His promised strategies to complete this task included bettering the economy, reducing crime, cracking down on illegal immigration, restoring jobs, and ensuring that the United States is taken more seriously on the world stage. Despite mindless “resistance” from rabid progressives and the Democrat Party, the president continues to make good on his promises, especially as the 2020 presidential election gets further and further along.

In keeping with his promises, more than 6.2 million individuals have gotten off food stamps since President Trump’s time in office, as documented by Breitbart News.

Despite what the left-wingers will claim, reducing dependency on government is actually very good. It allows people to stand on their own two feet and pave a way for themselves which doesn’t rely upon living off the dime of others. There are no legitimate reasons to oppose this, other than Democrats being disappointed at their decreasing lack of control over people’s lives, hence reducing their political relevance and power.

A Closer Look at Fewer Food Stamp Recipients

Since President Trump’s time in office, he’s lauded the merits of self-sufficiency. This can be seen throughout the policies which the president has implemented; in regards to food stamp recipients, the 6.2 million decline in enrolled individuals also includes 2.7 million households.

Special: Get an extra $6,840 per year out of your Social Security benefits…
At this current time, there are roughly 18.2 million households and 36 million individuals who rely upon food stamp programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), in order to support themselves.

The president has furthermore expressed an interest in allowing entry to legal immigrants who will be able to financially support themselves without relying upon food stamps, welfare, or other government programs.

Special: Cheaper Medicare May Have Arrived!
The Predictable Response from the Left

If Trump cured cancer tomorrow, the left-wing would rake him through the coals for putting doctors out of business. The reality is that Democrats detest this president and there’s absolutely nothing he can do which would possibly change their minds. Already, progressives and other leftists have begun branding the reduction of food stamps recipients as racist and harmful.

Expecting people to work hard and be self-sufficient in life is not racist or harmful. If Democrats want to talk about harm and so-called racism, they should know this: true racism is believing that certain groups are inherently incapable of competing at the same levels as everyone else and therefore deserve to be coddled. Former President Bush called it out best when he mentioned, “the soft bigotry of low expectations.”

Reducing dependency on the United States government and promoting independence and economic autonomy should always be celebrated in this country

The number of homeless children is higher than it has ever been under Trump and for the first time in 50 years the number of people without health insurance is increasing. Just think what will happen when the Trump recession hits.

There maybe some people who shouldn't have been cut, but when you look at the numbers, the biggest majority did not deserve the hand outs from the Obama administration. He was using taxpayer money to buy democrat votes. Typical socialist ploy. Just like the Obama phones. A lot of the recipients of welfare think that Obama just pulled the money from the air. I, for one, believe the number cut was probably too low. I know of farmers who cannot get the help they need to harvest crops and the crops are left dying in the field. Let the welfare hogs work for their handouts.

Stop supporting the illegals and take care of our children.

Key facts about homelessness among children and youth
In the 2016-17 school year, 1.4 million students (ages 6 to 18) experienced homelessness.
Most students experiencing homelessness were doubling up with other families during the 2016-17 school year (75 percent), while others were in shelters (15 percent), hotels/motels (7 percent), or were unsheltered (4 percent).
In 2017, most children and youth experiencing homelessness who were unaccompanied were 13 to 17 years old (87 percent), while a disproportionately high number of all children in federally-funded shelters were infants (under age 1) and young children (ages 6 and younger)–10 and 45 percent, respectively.

Despite the modest increase, the number of people experiencing homelessness in the U.S. has plunged almost 15 percent since 2007.

Here's the question: is throwing people in the lake who don't know how to swim, a moral and ethical action?

My State is also crowing about the huge number of people kicked off our Medicaid rolls, not by getting those people jobs, but by creating hoops for them to jump through so that it is near impossible for them to re-qualify. The majority of those so affected live in rural areas that have no internet access.....................and to re-qualify, folks had to file forms online by a specific date...................a date that was announced a week in advance.

How do you live through a famine? You kill off as many people as necessary, so that the available food is sufficient for those that are left.

So I guess your answer to the problem is to just throw money to them with no requirements. I believe anyone who is able bodied to work for a living should have that option forced on them before they qualify for welfare. The welfare pot is not bottomless. Our taxes pay into it. Requirement or proof of inability to work should be a priority. The same qualifications should be imposed of Social Security disability. Doctors should be held responsible to prove disabilities before approving payment.

If we just stopped bombing and killing for just 1 week we would save enough to pay for all our social programs

Nothing we have been bombing or killing the last 18 years has kept us free quite the opposite it has taken our freedom through things like the Patriot Act.
Why not start with Walmart whose owners make $1000000 an hour and keep keep their employees hours to a point that makes them eligible for food stamps. These employees also work without Healthcare so both the food and their health care are taken care of by.. American taxpayers.
Why not get behind a living wage anyone who Works 40 hours a week should be able to afford an apartment and some food on their table!

Sorry, but I cannot let that verbal misinformation concerning the disability pass without comment.

You are in error about Social Security disability at least in the state of NC. Usually takes a minimum of two years, countless doctor's forms and information and the use of a lawyer to navigate the system. Know about half a dozen people who have applied for Social Security Disability.

My dad was totally disabled, took more than 7 years to get disability. Doctors gave him 2 years to live and said he had the bones of a 98 year old male (he was only 33), heart disease, high blood pressure, full spinal fusion, blind in one eye, diabetic, gout, was bowed down to under 5 feet tall from 6 feet by one of the forms of arthritis that he had--before he got disability.

During Ronald Reagan years, his disability was cut off with no warning. At the state require doctor's exam, the doctor wanted to know who drove him to the appointment, wanted to help dad out of the chair since he was using 2 forearm crutches. This same (idiot) doctor said dad could work with a 10 pound weight limit. (See preceding paragraph.)

[Couldn't knock Dad out during some of his spinal surgeries and some other surgeries since his pain level was so high...from the time he was 33. He consented to numerous experimental surgeries before he died. No opiates given. He declined to be a cadaver for medical purposes. Said he had paid for the experimental surgeries, that they weren't going to cut on him for free.]

Finally took a helpful state representative tracking down dad's medical records at Raleigh. Report had 2 full pages of numerical health codes as to what was wrong with dad--Dad was reinstated on disability.

In addition, dad never got welfare during any of this time. Yes, years later, he finally choked down his pride and asked for help during one bad time. He was eligible for $10 worth of food stamps. He declined because of the government worker's snarky attitude toward him. Said it wasn't worth the humiliation of dealing with said government employee.

One of the many arthritis forms he had killed him, fuzed his ribs.

Dad was a proud, white, Christian, conservative who helped others as he was able. He taught his children to help those who need help, nothing in life is free, you work for what you want. Church was our social outlet, we attended Sunday-morning & evening, Wednesday evening, Friday night. He made sure we were taught Christian values--by example.

We didn't have a lot; however, we had each other and although sometimes things were sketchy, we had enough. One of the best things dad taught us was to be happy with what you can afford, to be thankful and give thanks.

I remember the day that dad gave up, he was sweating bullets just trying to breathe, he told me, "It hurts too much to stay." (They had given him less than 3 months to live, said he'd be bedfast, in diapers.) He got his legal affairs in order and he died the morning after he came home from the hospital.

He is my hero.

You mean the recession the left is predicting because about a third of a groups of economists have predicted and 2/3 have not? The recession the left is using for political gain even though it hasn't happened?? That recession??

Obama says the economy is great because of Obama. So, if it fails, just listen to your guru Obama. It's HIS economy! LOL!

He should be your hero. But, the fact that he is on S.s. Disability legally does not discount the fact that there is much corruption and many who are collecting a re fakes. We read about the ones being caught doing many things they claim they ant everyday. The same is true of the welfare rolls. How many people do you see in grocery lines using a welfare card that has much high end food and also cigarettes at over five dollars a pack. If youdontbelieve there is fraud in both systems you have to bea very naive left wing democrat.
