The MSM was a term created by someone who wanted to identify the organizations that object to Donald Trump as the MSM. There is not a MSM. There is the Free Press, that reports the news. It does not report the news as you may not want it to be, but it does report the news. Fox gives Trumps' news, CNN and a few others report the news from a more liberal point of view, but they are all the news, and all part of the Free Press.

The Free Press gives the news to all of us, whether they what you call MSM or Free Press. Just because they report news that you may not want to hear, they are all part of the Free Press, and MSM is a made up word to denote something different than what you want to hear.

What you call the MSM happens to be the majority of the press that believes that Donald Trump lies about half the time, and they do point that out. That is what the Free Press does. They point out when a president says something that is not true, which used to happen from time to time. Now it happens on a regular basis. So now you call then the MSM, as opposed to the Free Press. Some of you want to believe Donald Trump. I would like to believe Donald Trump, but he is lying. He is not going to give you better health insurance at a cheaper price. Mexico is not going to pay for the wall. Trade wars are not easy to win. He is not a master of the deal. All he can do is break a deal. NAFTA, the Paris Climate Accords, the Iran nuclear Deal, almost NATO. He can't bargain his way out of a paper bag.

What concerns me the most is the poor people that can't see this flaw in Trump. They are the people that use the terms MSM and fake news, and believe the lies that Trump spouts. They are the people that we need to be concerned about. The poor people that believes his lies.

Really....

Then you must have missed the video interview and series of insider (Senior Software Engineer Greg Coppola) Google reports, including internal Google documents, recently published by Project Veritas which exposed political bias, “algorithmic unfairness,” and the use of “blacklists” at YouTube. https://www.projectveritas.com/2019/07/24/current-sr-google-engineer-goes-public-on-camera-tech-is-dangerous-taking-sides/

I guessed you missed the news about a second Google insider, Zachary Vorhies, who provided 950 pages of internal Google documents to Project Veritas that was turned over to the Department of Justice’s Antitrust division.
https://youtu.be/g1VeElBAeas

Or did you miss the fact that the state attorneys general from four dozen states officially declared on Monday that they were beginning investigations into the market power and corporate behavior of big tech companies (Facebook, and Google). https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/09/technology/google-antitrust-investigation.html

How about Europe fineing Google $2.7 billion for manipulating search results:
https://www.vox.com/2017/6/27/15878980/europe-fine-google-antitrust-search

Right, there is no such thing as Main Stream Media bias. Move along, nothing to see here!

This is directed to the entire thread, it doesn't matter what you as a individual consider what is important , Main Stream or Main Street, MSM, Fake news if you like or dislike what is being reported or the lack of it. The real need is to get the larger picture of what is being reported then use your individual ability to think. Lies or truths if you only rely on one source you will only get one source.

True. But if corporations like Facebook and Google manipulate search results, blacklist sites that present opposing views, and this is all done surreptitiously, then that is a very dangerous situation. Peoples viewpoint of the world is being manipulated without their being aware of what is being done to them.

It is sad that there are so many people that are so "malleable" and easily manipulated.

Everyone believes what they want to believe and most often ignore evidence to the contrary of that belief. Do you know that there are people who still believe the Earth is flat?

A number of years ago, there were rumors circulating around where I worked ( Nurses are the worlds worst gossips ). The rumor got around to me, with some folks trying to convince me that the rumors were true...............................not realizing that it was MYSELF that was involved in the incident. The thing is, after informing them that I was an eye witness and that their rumor was false, many STILL chose to believe the rumors.

When you want YOUR version of "the truth" to rein supreme, you cast doubt on everyone else's version. People pick their version and stick with it.

Agreed but with the rules for net neutrality while they were in force it did keep the corporation under control to a certain extent, if you remember there were less of the conservative sites being black listed and removed. Now the corporation's can remove the sites when it does present an opposing view.

Trump hater, NO. I do happen to hate liars. I actually feel sorry for Trump. I don't think he can help himself. I'm not sure he can see reality when he watches the video tape of it.

If you truly hate liars, why do you still form opinions based on the MSM?

Sorry, my mistake. I meant Main Stream Media. I let spell check take over.

MSM is the free press. You do know that that is based on the First Amendment. You know, the one right before the Second Amendment, which I am sure that you know about. Just because they report news you don't want to hear, it is still news (not fake) and it is still important.

The free press is based on the First Amendment. What exists out there today is based on the bottom line of corporate annual tax returns.
