Don't ask him, all you have to do is observe him.

A little hard work is good for the soul... it doesn't hurt... cut enough green hardwood today to last a long winter... only lost 35 trees early Friday, will finish up tomorrow … this storm was mild for all the hype ...

What a refreshing question. My answer is yes. The lay scientist in me says that the odds are so in favor of the possibility that I am inclined to believe there is.

I'm also inclined to believe that most life in the universe will never breech interstellar space therefore remaining alone anyway.

I agree.

There are a vast number of stars and it looks like there are planets around a lot of them, so most likely there are at least a couple of other civilizations equivalent to ours, even just in this one galaxy.

Interstellar space travel is like when I travelled to visit some relatives. I didn't have a car and one day I just decided to start taking trains and buses into that general direction and see what happened. I finally arrived on a bicycle I had rented along the way. So then, what did we have to talk about? Not much. I said hello. My uncle told my cousin once-removed that I had come there by bicycle from such-and-such town. We sat around and it was kind of embarrassing because there wasn't much point in my being there. If there had been some work for me to do there, and if I had a unique talent that they needed, then it would have been worthwhile. But there wasn't; they could do their own work.

Between star systems, one civilization will eventually discover a radio transmission from another. And then it will send a message to the other. It will take decades just for the message to travel one way. And what will this message say? It will list a Periodic Table and maybe some prime numbers. It will say hello. The scientists will be excited at first but then really soon it will just be boring; or boring for most of us, anyway. Some of the scientists will find something to remain excited about, because that's how they are.

However, if we find a way to travel faster than light, or travel through "wormholes", that could change what could happen between civilizations.

But still, there's hardly ever much reason to go to one of those places; those folks can do their own work, and we can be more productive just staying in our own solar system.

NOAA Backs Trump: Early Dorian Forecast Included Alabama

Certainly, appreciate your intelligence always welcome.
Little confused on the "blame everyone else for your problems."
Is that not your MO?

Yes, there's more life somewhere out there; no we are not completely alone.

_However_, we have some varieties of life right here on Earth that we still haven't learned to fully appreciate! My cat, for example. This is really a wonderful cat but you have to get to know her to find that out. What does it mean when the cat meows? We don't even know. Then there are the other primates and the dolphins, and a few of those animals are smarter than some humans are. But they have different kinds of intelligence and we haven't gotten to know them very well. Most of us don't even _want_ to get to know them very well, and here you are asking about life on _other_ planets, as though we were ready for that.

Also there are different kinds of people within our own species. How does one sex understand the experience of the other? Lots of times, they don't. And then there are the different cultures. We've got all this right in front of our noses, and we barely look at it. But it's probably more than enough to keep us fulfilled and busy if we would only pay attention to it. And infants have great potential that we don't even know, and it is hard to give them the attention that they're worth. One human infant is probably more interesting than any extraterrestrial adult could ever be; except that we don't know how to fully appreciate the infant. And one infant's different from another.

I’ve read about things like copper hot water lines in Peru and carvings on the walls of caves in South America and other places that looked like the drawings made by people who claim to have seen aliens recently. The drawings all look the same. So do I believe? I’d hate to say no but I have doubts. Now the Air Force is doing some weird stuff if those UFOs are just weather balloons.

What does he have to say on topic? It’s just about hating the man who’s trying to build us up.

The quick answer is that we don't know.

But I am willing to guess. I get some of these ideas from a book or two.

If you went out, you would pass stars, then galaxies, then clusters of galaxies, then superclusters of clusters of galaxies.

It mostly looks like lots of empty space, in between the stars and in between the galaxies and clusters and superclusters.

Up to this point in the description, most people will agree. It is conventional knowledge. They will start to disagree as I continue to describe, below.

When you got past the farthest star, if you could know where you were and where everything else was, you would find that you're on the surface of a space bubble that is expanding. It expands fast enough that you would never actually be able to keep up with it; so, for human purposes, it is as though it were infinite. You would be perhaps 10 billion or 100 billion lightyears from home. Everything else, including home, is also on the same surface of the same space bubble. So it's somehow different from the ordinary straight-line geometry we learned in high school 50 years ago.

Outside that space bubble are other space bubbles. Each space bubble is a universe.

It goes on forever.

For now, we don't know how to get from one space bubble to another. In one book, the author thought there was a possibility of somehow getting from one space bubble to another.

You could also ask: what's in between the space bubbles? Or even, what's beyond all the space bubbles? Again, we don't know. But I'm willing to guess. There's nothing in between the space bubbles. There's nothing beyond all the space bubbles. It's just space bubbles in all directions going on forever, and nothing in between them.

But it gets more complicated. The physical laws inside one space bubble may be completely different from the physical laws inside another space bubble. We don't know.

All that's my guess for now.
The quick answer is that we don't know. br br But... (show quote)

That sounds nuts and yet plausible
