Liberals think the best words in the second amendment are "well regulated" which they want to use for as much gun control as possible. Conservatives who believe in the constitution as written know the best words in the second amendment are "the right of the people."

The right of the victims of mass shootings also believed in the constitution as written. They had the right to a peaceful existence. The constitution dictates that a government protect the lives of its citizens from bad private actors. This demands affirmative action on the part of the government to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and crazy people. It also implies that the president refrain from encouraging people to reject and physically harm one another.

Where did you come to such a conclusion? It seem you have a reading comprehension problem. It only states that the people shall have the right to bear arms. They knew nothing of what was to come in the future as to the type of firearms.

All would be well if you nut jobs lefties would stop letting the crazies out of jail. Your stupid Governor of California just let a few thousand loose to rain havoc on its people.
On top of that, they refuse to lock up nut jobs that have a dozen complaints on then for years.
That was the case in Florida schools shooting just last year. Same in many other places, seems these nut jobs free to do harm are your main plot to get rid of guns. The more crazies on the loose are to your benefit.

I don't know why they think that new laws will do ANYTHING. Here's a conundrum; criminals don't follow laws, so lock them up, right? Only they're letting all the felons out

You are right, that all long guns at the time had ways to attach a bayonet to the long guns. But as I said they knew nothing of what would come in the future with firearms.

Well, that is irrelevant my friend. It keeps up with the time. Big brother has tanks which did not exist then either. The law was not for hunting it was to keep the Commies in line. And so far has worked. And that is the problem it works and that is why the Commies want to remove it.
