Islamists and Neo-Nazis Are Not Opposites – On the Contrary

You may think that Islamists and neo-Nazis/white supremacists are complete opposites. After all, they’re willing to take physical violence against each other to the streets. Both use the threat of the other one as a recruiting tool to boost numbers.

But their bitter enmity is surface level. When we look at the views of Islamists and neo-Nazis/white supremacists — what we will call for simplicity, the Far Right — we start to see the similarities.

For groups that hate each other, Islamists and the Far Right tend to talk about a lot of the same things.

Here are just a few of the views they share:

They hate gay people
They hate democracy
They hate Jews
They think women should stay at home to bear and raise children
They support use of extreme violence against their enemies
They are both obsessed with group identity
They are both obsessed with masculinity and the concept of “honor”
These are not accidental similarities. And, in truth, they are not different movements doing different things: They are fundamentally the same idea, just expressed in different cultures.

Before the French Revolution, societies were governed by monarchies, who ruled in accordance with the principles of their particular religion.

They may have claimed Divine right, or simply ruled in the name of a particular faith. The state was considered an extension of the family, with the King or the Emperor’s family at the head of it. He had a right to rule, just as a man had the right to rule over his household.

There was no concept of sovereignty of the people or universal rights or any of those ideas. There was certainly no separation of religion and state.

Since the late 18th century, a series of revolutions, starting in America, Haiti and France, brought democracy to the world. With it, they brought the concept of civil rights, separation of religion and state, rights for women, an end to slavery and a host of other positive transformations.

Both the Far Right and Islamists seek to reverse those gains. The objective of any genuinely neo-Nazi program is to empower a strong and powerful leader to create a powerful authoritarian state.

This project, it is thought, will bring honor and victory to the community, instead of the liberalism and decadence of the modern secular world.

Muslim Brotherhood and Islamist ideologue Sayyid Qutb’s febrile rantings about the raw sensuality of the American woman mirror the Nazi slogan of the woman’s role as restricted to “Kinder, Kirche, Kuche” (children, church, cooking).

Its misogyny and its broader political program go hand-in-hand: The power of the male in the home mirrors the power of the state in general — and the power of the state brings honor of the people.

It is violent machismoism taken to its ultimate conclusion and extreme.

Both Islamists and the Far Right look to the Crusades for their example. Online images of knights, in particular the Knights Templar, are used by the Far Right; Islamists glorify Saladin, the Crusaders’ nemisis.

The reason Islamists and the neo-Nazis both use rhetoric and symbolism from the Middle Ages and other pre-modern periods is that they see themselves in that context.

They view all of recent history as one giant mistake – a mistake that needs to be rectified through the point of a sword.

Perhaps this is why Vona Gábor, the head of the Hungarian Far-Right party Jobbik, praised Islam as a bulwark against globalization in 2018.

The connection of the Third Reich to Islamist extremism is well documented. The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem personally met Hitler, and raised units of Muslim soldiers to fight for the Nazis. Muslim Brotherhood founder and leader Hassan al-Banna was so enamored of Hitler that he had Mein Kampf translated into Arabic.

The Islamist/neo-Nazi position takes same attitude to the world, just reflected through different cultural lenses. Once this is understood, combating both positions at the same time becomes a whole lot simpler.

What Schools Don't Teach About Slavery
Patriots, this week I am away with Medal of Honor events, including a Celebration of Valor in support of the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center. The opportunity to join with fellow Patriots to honor the extraordinary service and sacrifice of these recipients is always humbling.

Standing watch for me today is our columnist Larry Elder. Given all the leftist recycled racism rhetoric and their "reparations lotto" to buy votes, this is an encore piece on what our schools don't teach about slavery.

Slavery: What They Didn't Teach in My High School

A man I have known since grade school changed his name, years ago, to an Arabic one. He told me he rejected Christianity as "the white man's religion that justified slavery." He argued Africans taken out of that continent were owed reparations. "From whom?" I asked.

Arab slavers took more Africans out of Africa and transported them to the Middle East and to South America than European slavers took out of Africa and brought to North America. Arab slavers began taking slaves out of Africa beginning in the ninth century — centuries before the European slave trade — and continued well after.

In Prisons & Slavery, John Dewar Gleissner writes: "The Arabs' treatment of black Africans can aptly be termed an African Holocaust. Arabs killed more Africans in transit, especially when crossing the Sahara Desert, than Europeans and Americans, and over more centuries, both before and after the years of the Atlantic slave trade. Arab Muslims began extracting millions of black African slaves centuries before Christian nations did. Arab slave traders removed slaves from Africa for about 13 centuries, compared to three centuries of the Atlantic slave trade. African slaves transported by Arabs across the Sahara Desert died more often than slaves making the Middle Passage to the New World by ship. Slaves invariably died within five years if they worked in the Ottoman Empire's Sahara salt mines."

My name-changing friend did not know that slavery occurred on every continent except Antarctica. Europeans enslaved other Europeans. Asians enslaved Asians. Africans enslaved other Africans. Arabs enslaved other Arabs. Native Americans even enslaved other Native Americans.

He accused me of "relying on white historians" who, he insisted, had a "vested interest to lie."

What about Thomas Sowell, the brilliant economist/historian/philosopher who happens to be black? Sowell writes: "Of all the tragic facts about the history of slavery, the most astonishing to an American today is that, although slavery was a worldwide institution for thousands of years, nowhere in the world was slavery a controversial issue prior to the 18th century.

"People of every race and color were enslaved — and enslaved others. White people were still being bought and sold as slaves in the Ottoman Empire, decades after American blacks were freed."

Sowell also wrote: "The region of West Africa ... was one of the great slave-trading regions of the continent — before, during, and after the white man arrived. It was the Africans who enslaved their fellow Africans, selling some of these slaves to Europeans or to Arabs and keeping others for themselves. Even at the peak of the Atlantic slave trade, Africans retained more slaves for themselves than they sent to the Western Hemisphere. ... Arabs were the leading slave raiders in East Africa, ranging over an area larger than all of Europe."

I asked my friend if his anger over slavery extended to countries like Brazil. "Brazil?" he said.

Harvard's Department of African and African American Studies professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. — who also happens to be black — wrote: "Between 1525 and 1866, in the entire history of the slave trade to the New World, according to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database, 12.5 million Africans were shipped to the New World. 10.7 million survived the dreaded Middle Passage, disembarking in North America, the Caribbean and South America. And how many of these 10.7 million Africans were shipped directly to North America? Only about 388,000. That's right: a tiny percentage. In fact, the overwhelming percentage of the African slaves were shipped directly to the Caribbean and South America; Brazil received 4.86 million Africans alone!"

African tribes who captured other tribes sold them into slavery. For this reason, in 2006, Ghana offered an official apology. Emmanuel Hagan, director of research and statistics at Ghana's Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, explains: "The reason why we wanted to do some formal thing is that we want — even if it's just for the surface of it, for the cosmetic of it — to be seen to be saying 'sorry' to those who feel very strongly and who we believe have distorted history, because they get the impression that it was people here who just took them and sold them. It's something we have to look straight in the face and try to address, because it exists. So we will want to say something went wrong. People made mistakes, but we are sorry for whatever happened."

Over 600,000 Americans, in a country with less than 10% of today's population, died in the Civil War that ended slavery. "While slavery was common to all civilizations," writes Sowell, "... only one civilization developed a moral revulsion against it, very late in its history — Western civilization. ... Not even the leading moralists in other civilizations rejected slavery at all."

And, no, after all this, my friend did not reconsider his name change.

The Truth Factory is back with a slickly-produced, well-researched piece, replete with many stunt cats, detailing how we all got into this mess.

You'd think that the CIA and FBI would be better at hoaxing the world but their efforts have been very ham-fisted and very obviously fake. It reminds me of the ineffectuality of Rumsfeld's "Shock and Awe" bombardment of Baghdad in ending the Iraq War before it really got started. These A-holes receive billions of taxpayer dollars to be world-class kick-ass but instead, they're bush league pathetic.

The Mueller Report falsely claims that the DNC servers were hacked by Russian military intelligence. The DNC servers have never been examined by any law enforcement agency to ascertain this claim. Only by the private contractor on the DNC's payroll, CrowdStrike has been allowed to make their dubious pronouncements about what happened.

What actually HAS been proven is that the servers could not have been hacked remotely. In an independent investigation led by 30-year NSA official, Bill Binney, it was found that the data transfer rates of the DNC's downloaded information could not have been achieved via remote hacking and that it must have been done on-site onto a flashdrive, by someone with physical access to the server.

And then there's the "Peepee Dossier", which was supposed to have been the smoking gun that set into motion the whole juggernaut of the Crossfire Hurricane Operation. We know now that it was paid for by the Clinton Campaign and by the FBI.

I'll let The Truth Factory explain all of the dastardly moving parts, as they do so well.

It is enormously frustrating that the DNC and their minion media and Federal law enforcement agencies have allowed this half-brained chicanery to persist for so long. Hopefully, these lies will be put to bed soon.

Btw, this guy was a staunch Democrat until one day he was like Doug Schoen, 'couldn't support Hillary or all the other liars. That isn't to say he went Republican, like me neither party does it for him.
