This is the problem with healthcare--it is an item of infinite demand--no matter how high the cost is you will always demand the product. This is why a single-payer system is the only solution.

You said single-payer system. Why do American citizens have to pay and illegals will get their medical free?????

And you don't think this was staged??

It's pretty wobbly with statistics....

Exactly what I was thinking when I read this article. How must their family members feel when they see the dem candidates on stage raising their hands in support of free health care for illegals?

Medicare for all is, as they say, medicare for none. What I am finding out since turning 65 is that Medicare "guidelines" give insurance companies an excuse to deny coverage for various medications and treatments. In my experience, a particular prescription medication that I had been taking for several years was no problem for my doctors or my insurance company--until the day I turned 65. Then suddenly it was unacceptable .. on that very day .... because Medicare deemed it so and insurance company happily followed suit. Of course, I could, and did, just pay for it myself and that's okay with them. I am a very healthy person and I cost them pretty much nothing, but still one prescription was simply too much.

I could go on with personal anecdotes involving aged parents getting screwed by Medicare limitations … as well as family members who have suffered great financial burdens directly due to the ACA, but I won't bore you with the details. I would simply add that, for those of you who have not reached that age yet and are looking forward to the benefits that you EARNED by paying into the plan your entire lives, you should know it is not enough .. and even supplemental policies do not fill in the gaps.

Now they want to cover everyone … including noncitizens who have never paid a dime into it. What could possibly go wrong? Remember the false promises of the ACA? And the fact that, as Jon Gruber stated, they depend on "the stupidity of the American voter" to get these things passed? Remember that? Are you going to get suckered again?

And if you think that it will get any better … or less expensive for YOU … to add all the illegals who can find their way into our country onto the plan … as well as the hundreds of thousands more who will show up once this scheme is implemented …. then you deserve what you end up with. My guess is you will be looking at Canada because the weeks/months long wait there will be less than what it is here. In fact, Canada will probably start thinking about building a wall to keep US out!

This elderly couple were eligible for Medicare and Washington State also has Medicare Advantage programs available, used together their medical bills would possibly have been quite low or if eligible they could have turned to mediaid programs. If his wife was terminal, Medicare Advantage would have paid for Hospice Care. Perhaps they just were ignorant of those facts & needed help?

Even if they still owed high medical bills, many doctors and hospitals will negotiate their owed bills! There is always bankruptcy available if all else fails.

Somehow I don't think this was just a case of "high medical bills", probably just didn't want to go on suffering or seeing his mate suffer but wanted to have someone or something else to blame it on! The press just ate it up and used it for their own agenda!

In many cases, they really don't understand what they are entitled to and I feel Dr. office when medical cost start to or are going to go up should send them to medical financial advisors to let them know what they are eligible for and help them get there not all of us are up on all this stuff

I'm glad you won't bore us with the details because you have it all wrong. No one suffers under ACA, if you suffer it is due to your own policy and who you have it with, and what is not covered. On the other end you're also complaining about medicare, what's the problem they didn't pay for the whole thing? You sound very confused on how the whole thing works, seek some medical counseling.

If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.
If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.
Average savings of $2,500 per family.

THOSE are the lies of the ACA. Any complaints about costs skyrocketing for millions of middle class Americans and the unfortunate changes in their health care plans due to the ACA are met with responses such as yours. Denials and dismissal …

I know what I posted about adverse affects of the ACA on family members to be true and simply stated that fact. I don't give a rip whether you believe it or not.

As far as my issue with Medicare prescription coverage …. no confusion there at all. Medicare sets the guidelines, insurance company follows them and refuses to continue coverage … despite doctor's appeal. Letters in my possession from all concerned stating exactly that. Facts are facts. Again, whether you believe it or not is of no concern to me.
