Clearly, restoring some semblance of law-and-order in only a few of our major cities would solve the “gun problem”. Guns haven’t CAUSED anything. The “progressive” suppression of intercity education, business and law enforcement causes people to revert to crime to create their “opportunities”.

Democrats are, in fact, the CAUSE!

Yep!!

Exactly Fit. The ultimate goal of the left is the total disarmament of everyone in the country regardless if they are a wacko, criminal, gang banger or a law abiding citizen.

Makes no difference to the left/socialist/dimocrat, leftoids want all guns, and mark my words if we ever have the likes of Harris or Warren in the White House it will happen~

It would be interesting if cops went on strike in gun free zones...See how those libs really would do w/out cops~My guess is that criminals would run amok!.. and the citizens living there in those gun free zones would be vulnerable!..wonder what libs would do then in their already crime torn cities!

I just got today's newspaper. The big story (Frontpage, large print) two of the squad members were denied entry into Israel. Tlaib and Omar are both anti-Israel and have boasted about wanting to condemn the Israeli state and many other facets of Israeli's right to exist as a nation-state. NOW, the other thing interesting fact is when Obama did not allow an Israeli member of their Congress entry into the USA, nothing was posted on the Front pages of any major newspaper nor were there any objections made by the television anchors nor their enlighten reporters. We live in a time when the media, as a whole, is corrupt and fails to inform the public of the complete news. Anything that will damage the Trump administration is splashed across the Front Pages and spewed by the anchors and dimwitted reporters. The American public has been bombarded with Anti-Trump news even prior to his assuming the Presidency. I believe the media has reverted back to the days of weaponization and pure political subservience to the democratic party

Preach it! It's harder to be informed because you have to use so many different sources, then wade through the BS, but we'd all gotten lazy by just watching the MSM "News @ 11" shows for so many years while they fed us what they wanted to. Many of us have been red-pilled now and the effort to find the truth is waking us up and honing our skills. I still use Google and YouTube (and many more sources as well), but I do it now with a cynic's filter. I often find myself going several pages or more deep on a google search in order to skip the left leaning algorithms that skew the 1st page or 2. You have to work a little more, but as Fox Mulder would say "The Truth Is Out There!"

This jives with the research of Prof. Lott at the University of Chicago, who is a noted expert on gun laws and stats.

Excellent Marine,

But what we ALL need to do is write, email, blog ETC our senators and congress people and push this truth! The libs on the fringe WILL try to disarm Law Abiding American Citizens to do as the last sentence says. "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed." In the case of the liberal left it should read this way "before socialism or communism can rule, the people must be disarmed". I have listened to liberal gun control BS for decades. Look at China and ask this question: "Do private citizens of China have personal firearms?" China is very restricted for hunting and sport shooting only (rifles no hand guns) any other intended use by a citizen gets you from a three year jail to a death sentence.

Our founding fathers put the second amendment in the constitution for a reason. So we the people can protect ourselves against OUR government! If you want proof of why this is needed, simply research the demise of the Knights Templar. They protected the King and Queen and all of Britain for hundreds of years then when the King decided the Knights Templar were getting to powerful around 1200 AD, he had his court (his government) strip them of any power, jail them for seven years then tried and execute them for Heresy. Our founding fathers knew from experience why we have to protect ourselves from OUR government.

Here are some facts.

There are 30,000 gun related death s per year by firearms; this number is not disputed. The U.S. population is 324,059,091 as of June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.00925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death:

65% of those deaths are by suicide, which would never be prevented by gun laws.
15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified.
17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – better known as gun violence.
3% are accidental discharge deaths.

So technically, “gun violence” is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many? Now lets look at how those deaths spanned across the nation.
480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago
344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore
333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit
119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C. (a 54% increase over prior years)
So basically, 25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities. All 4 of those cities have strict gun laws, so it is not the lack of law that is the root cause.

This basically leaves 3,825 for the entire rest of the nation, or about 75 deaths per state. That is an average because some States have much higher rates than others. For example, California had 1,169 and Alabama had 1.

Now, who has the strictest gun laws by far? California, of course, but understand, it is not guns causing this. It is a crime rate spawned by the number of criminal persons residing in those cities and states. So, if all cities and states are not created equal, then there must be something other than the tool causing the gun deaths.

Are 5,100 deaths per year horrific? How about in comparison to other deaths? All death is sad and especially so when it is in the commission of a crime but that is the nature of crime. Robbery, death, rape, assaults are all done by criminals. It is ludicrous to think that criminals will obey laws. That is why they are called criminals.

But what about other deaths each year?
40,000+ die from a drug overdose–THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT!
36,000 people die per year from the flu, far exceeding the criminal gun deaths.
34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities(exceeding gun deaths even if you include suicide).

Now it gets good:
200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer walking in the worst areas of Chicago than you are when you are in a hospital!

710,000 people die per year from heart disease. It’s time to stop the double cheeseburgers! So, what is the point? If the liberal loons and the anti-gun movement focused their attention on heart disease, even a 10% decrease in cardiac deaths would save twice the number of lives annually of all gun-related deaths (including suicide, law enforcement, etc.).

A 10% reduction in medical errors would be 66% of the total number of gun deaths or 4 times the number of criminal homicides ……………. Simple, easily preventable 10% reductions! So, you have to ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things, why the focus on guns?

It’s pretty simple:
Taking away guns gives control to governments. The founders of this nation knew that regardless of the form of government, those in power may become corrupt and seek to rule as the British did by trying to disarm the populace of the colonies. It is not difficult to understand that a disarmed populace is a controlled populace.

Thus, the second amendment was proudly and boldly included in the U.S. Constitution. It must be preserved at all costs . So, the next time someone tries to tell you that gun control is about saving lives, look at these facts and remember these words from Noah Webster: “Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed.”
Interesting statistics! br This jives with the res... (show quote)

Gun "control" is really code for gun confiscation. I think I've read those statistics ten times easily if not more. How much time did they waste politicizing the Philadelphia shooting? A black man with a long rap sheet who really should have still beenin jail.

The 2nd amendment begins a well REGULATED militia, the key word being REGULATED meaning controls are in place ... Former chief justice Warren Burger Weighed in on this year's ago and even he said the 2nd amendment doesn't give unfettered access to any kind of weapon he or she desires ... But that aside, here's what I propose, the next time we have a mass shooting somewhere, let's take YOU to the scene of the Massacre and you can Wade through all the blood and Carnage so you can see it 1st hand, then we take you to the homes of all the victims family members, and you can read them all your stats about guns and death, and explain why your gun rights are more important than their loved one lying dead in a pool of their own blood

Seems you forgot to post the second part of the amendment...where the comma separates free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed, do you need the definition of the word "Infringe"

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.".

Frankly, I am grateful that my county allows open carry, though I don't carry mine.. If I had to wait for a cop to get here in the event of a break in, I'd be dead waitin... I'm sorry about those folks obviously, I Live alone, and having a weapon makes me feel a Lot safer.. I think you need to do a bit more soul searching... It's my right to defend myself.. in my home, with my gun if necessary!.. and Before you go off on me regarding I could use a baseball bat... I will tell you I wouldn't want the son of a bitch that close! it's called self defense!

I'm aware of what the 2nd amendment says, and I'm not against the right to own a gun... What I'm against is unfettered access to all weapons, another thing Warren Burger spoke about and stated it was the biggest lie the gun lobby puts on the people of the U.S.
