So you are equating guns to addictive drugs? Interesting comparison and you do act like people who are addicted.

How's this for a solution, a ten thousand dollar fine per semi-automatic weapon you are caught with. Catch you again and the fine will be twenty thousand dollars and three years in prison.

This won't eliminate semi-auto's but it will make them so cost-prohibitive and dangerous to keep that their sale will be but a trickle.

Not to the people thats going to do these killings

You're looking through the wrong end of the telescope. The question that must be answered honestly is what happened in America that no longer allowed all human life to remain sacred?

After every mass shooting, the same handwringing, lamenting, and finger pointing begin.

I personally don't think that future mass shootings can be prevented, any more than minor crime can be stopped.

But there are some deep thinking and well intentioned members who may have other ideas.

But please, be realistic, and keep in mind the freedoms and liberties everyone in this country has UNTIL they commit a crime.

Drug tests and autopsy will reveal real culprits

We have mass shooting in the hundreds every year--so many that only the worst one make the news. Yes, bad people do bad things but it's ridiculous to hand them the instruments in which to make those bad things worse.

In London they use knives cars etc!!!

Good luck getting that past the SCOTUS. You forget that more people have been killed with revolvers than with semi autos. I guess we should get rid of those next. You ignore the FBI Uniform Crime Report which states that for ten years straight, more people have been killed with knives than with semi auto rifles. I guess you'll go for those also. The same report shows more people have been beaten to death with clubs than killed with semi auto rifles. How about a $10,000 fine on that Louisville Slugger in your closet, chico?
Good luck with your fine idea. Most cops will not enforce it, and even in such Democrap strongholds as NJ and CT, compliance on a ban of semi auto rifles has been nearly zero.

No way to prevent them all. Gun control laws only work on those who are willing to obey the law. Those who are not will find a way to obtain the weapons they desire. All it takes is enough money.

If gun control laws worked, the death tolls in all the major cities ran by Dummycrats, wouldn't lead the nation. The only thing they have in common is they all have the toughest gun laws on the books and the most violent gun crimes and most murders in the country.

Heres the thing. Everyone heard about London. Theres no guns. So terrorists used knives, cars and trucks. Bad people do bad things. People who were fed drugs as developing children do bad things (ADHD DRUGS, ETC) Personally I want to be able to defend myself if bad people are doing bad things. We have had tightened gun control laws for decades. Things continue to get worse. Because criminals, bad people and lunatics dont follow laws. Good people do. And are left defenseless. I dont know what the answer is, but its sure become glaringly obvious it's not gun laws. Maybe consequences might work. We have become a country of judicial disaster, where if you have a good enough excuse you can get away with anything.

In many ways, our country, as a society, is very different today than 70-80 years ago when I was little---- marriage was a good thing and parents stayed together, homosexuality was not published or talked about, transgenders were way in the closet, no genders but male and female, no arguments on which restroom to use, everyone showed respect for the office of President regardless of its temporary occupant, our government agencies and media were mostly trusted to do right by us, love of country was normal, support for our military and law enforcement was the norm, legal immigrants were welcome but only if they assimilated ASAP, supported themselves and became hood Americans (not hyphenated ones), children were taught the traits of good character supported by the entire community, etc. Could this trenendous difference in overall society combined with today's technology pplay more of a part than guns??

The Democrats can deny it all they wish, but none of this s*** started happening until they'd ripped all mention of G-d out of the schools, declared war on Judeo-Christianity and begun promoting immoral and/or perverse conduct through legislation, movies & TV and, gradually, in the classroom, slowly easing the role of raising children out of the hands of parents and into the clutches of the political left.

Do you raise your kids or is the left raising your kids?

I don't think you get it.

Schools have for some time now been indoctrinating children from a "progressive" perspective.

For example, Sex Ed whose curriculum was written by LGBTQ folks, identity politics and social justice, etc.

All that stuff should be left to the parents while the schools teach the skills they're supposed to be teaching.

Since the education system is run almost entirely by "progressives," who follow the propaganda strategy of Karl Marx, the leftist indoctrination begins at an early, impressionable age and is delivered shamelessly, more often than not without the parents even realizing what's occurring.
