Trump didn't honor them and he was not present. This was done by the Department Of State. Technically, the Trump administration, but not HIM. The same Department Of State that he refuses to fully fund and staff.

Everyone has a bone of racism in them, in some, shape, form or fashion. I am a supporter of President Trump, and acknowledge his racist statements, and points, but it has no effect on me. My former partner is white, and I only am interesting in white females.
Do that make me a racist against females members of my ethnicity? Which is black Americans, no. I'm looking at assets and liability, when it comes to females of today society.
White females can be a lability also, and have been in my life. He'd honored the black Muslim Cleric to make a moral, and political point, which I support. What's is the big deal in acknowledging the good deeds of Muslims Cleric?
The leader of the Nation of Islam is supported and loved by a white Christian Pastor, and they are the best of friends. I think we are heading somewhere most racist inside America don't want to go, or be. If God is love, then why we can't accept those with difference ideologies or religious beliefs.
