Pelosi Releases Statement Denouncing President Trump’s New Asylum Law – Demands Open Borders

Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement on the Trump Administration’s new asylum rule, which creates unprecedented and impossible hurdles for families seeking asylum and clearly violates the Immigration and Nationality Act:

The President is devastating lives, dishonoring our values and departing from decades of precedent and law in his haste to destroy the lifeline of asylum in America. This cruel new asylum rule perfectly showcases the Administration’s utter disdain and disregard for immigrant communities and communities of color.

“This asylum rule is a clear abdication of American humanitarianism. Since Day One, the Administration has turned its back on generations of Republican and Democratic leadership, which has long recognized that the lifeline of asylum is central to our nation’s values, history and future. As the American Association of Evangelicals has testified, America’s commitment to opening our doors to those in need is the ‘crown jewel of American humanitarianism.’

“The Administration has clearly overreached their authority and violated the law with these restrictions, which will be swiftly and successfully challenged in the courts. The Democratic House will always stand firm against attacks on immigrants, and will continue to call on the White House to join us to support smart, effective immigration policies that honor our values and keep families together and safe.”

Statute
Section 212(f) of the INA reads as follows:
f. Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. Whenever the Attorney General finds that a commercial airline has failed to comply with regulations of the Attorney General relating to requirements of airlines for the detection of fraudulent documents used by passengers traveling to the United States (including the training of personnel in such detection), the Attorney General may suspend the entry of some or all aliens transported to the United States by such airline.

One can only hope it gets shot down!!.. I think dems have a tendancy to cherry pick our laws as it suits them and ignore the rest...including the one that would shoot them down as far as the President locking down on Immigration period..

Sounds good to me. Stop these illegal invaders at the border.

Those seeking asylum are very obviously using that tactic to gain entry into the United States on false pretenses, coached by democrats and leftist sympathizers. They fail to show up for legal hearings on that status by as much as 90%. and when the request for asylum is over ruled by a judge, they don't leave and head for sanctuary cities created by democrats who protect them in utter defiance of U. S. laws.

Meanwhile, the House led by Pelosi, the gang of four, communists, leftists, socialists, the democrat caucus, those with TDS, and the rest of those that would destroy our country, try to disrupt the enforcement of our legitimate immigration laws as long as it is President Trump trying to enforce those laws.

The democrats will take this to a leftist sympathizing judge who will stop the President until the inevitable
over ruling by a higher court. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of illegal invaders will be let loose throughout America to never be found again, but costing billions more of our tax dollars.

Congress will do absolutely nothing. They will be thrilled. They want global government and that can't happen until the United States is destroyed. Open borders is their present plan to destroy the country and there will be rejoicing in the streets of sanctuary cities.

Oh hell no... I've made a few comments regarding walls.. firstly.. the wealthy of their elite live in gated or walled communities with armed guards at the gate... but they don't want us to guard our borders the same way...
double standard much.. I think the Great wall of China is still efffective.. the berlin wall was effective at stopping both incoming and outgoing people which is extreme yes but it worked.. interesting that I am citing two communist countries at the time...and yet. the ONLY reason the libs want open borders is to get the vote and other nefarious reasons...If I had the money.. I'd shut the border down tighter than a bulls ass in fly season..

I don't think they actually do. I think the sheer magnitude of the influx would crush the border towns and there would be a huge outcry for help . . . closing the border!
