Despite the explanation of Nasa experts on the hows and whys the space program sees the Moon as the first step to Mars, the un-stable genius is unable to grasp the facts of space travel and exploration, not to mention the trillion dollar costs, however, trump and his fiscally conservative republicans do not care about deficits and the national debt.
So with that said, let trump push his Mars program, Artemis, forward, and let his dumb ass be the first former president in space, taking his whole family with him, never to return.

Since you are do concerned about the budget and deficits why don't you get Pelosi and your Democrats in the House to produce a balanced budget since appropriation bills start there? No like you they are too consumed with TDS to do any real work for the country.

We have been to the moon and yes, we will need to return to the moon but it would not be the next objective. I can see he plans to build a base on the moon for the next step to Mars and then beyond. I hope this generates another space race, as long as the nations are focusing their talents in making space travel possible they will be too preoccupied to dream up new ways for nations to invade and kill other nations on earth.

Spend, spend and then spend more, but cut revenue.

The simplistic trump business model of why his casinos, university, airline, football team, clothing company, steak company and distillery all failed

What could possibly be wrong with his leadership in space"

You are off topic.... and I you already created a thread regarding spending. So, any response on spending would hijack this thread. Is it possible that you can not argue the points you tried to make on this thread?

The topic is trump and his inability to comprehend the position of NASA

His total and complete ignorance will result in his wanting to spend more and more, and not being able to pay for it, there by adding to his ever increasing national debt

Okay, that is a valid point. As most rich people, President Trump knows that to make money one has to spend money. Yes, the program will be very expensive.... but, more people will be working as an off shoot of the space program. Millions of workers will be needed... from those who are bus drivers to the computer programmers. In July 2012, 7000 direct support personnel lost their jobs and manufacturing companies laid off thousands because their jobs were eliminated. These are the direct causalities of closing down the program. However, these numbers represent only a fraction of people required for a successful program. If President Trump gets funding, we will be able to put the remainder of the 3.4 unemployed to work and recruit well qualified people from around the world. As people become secure that tomorrow their job will still be there, these people will spend the money they earn.... and that spending will happen in the USA and satellite stations that are already operational in Australia. So.... the space program is based on solid financial strategy and if money is allocated will be an economic boon for the USA and the world as we increase trade.

"republicans do not care about deficits and the national debt."
Under President Obama, the national debt grew the most dollar-wise.
He added $8.588 trillion.

And you do realize that most of that increase was because of bush, not funding his stupid wars for example

I will give you his first year in office because the budget had already been established..... although late. President Bush's last budget, for Fiscal Year 2009, created a deficit of $1.16 trillion. When obama took office the debt was at 10,699,805,000,000. By the time President Trump took office the debt was already 19.97 trillion with a year of obama budget to add. Keep in mind, the budget for the war in the ME had already been established. What drove the climb in the national debt was obama's bail outs which did not help the average US citizen but was more or less freebies for unemployed. Adding to this was his "shovel ready" jobs that were financed but never materialized along with the push for solar energy farms which never materialized. And then there was his idea of making the Bush tax cuts permanent (again, only affected a few citizens) and obamacare (where money was stolen from Social Security).

We can no longer afford freebies especially for non-citizens. Now more than ever, we need to secure our borders and cut the feed bag for those who have worked just enough to qualify for government assistance. We need to add a requirement for the habitual collector; a mandatory work requirement. If they can not or will not find a job, there are plenty of turds to pick up in Los Angles and San Francisco. Levees that need attention in the Gulf of Mexico..... all hard honest work. And we can not afford to provide nonemergency care to non-citizens. Or free college for non-citizens..... and we certainly can not afford to pull border patrol off their jobs to babysit children (most being between 15 and 17) who are pushed out of their homes by their parents or sold to child slavers. I do not see that we should provide the down payment for a non-citizen's house. Oh this list could get long!

Obama would not give funding to the once great agency that put men on the Moon. He needed that money for his Socialist Wet Dreams. Obama's head of NASA said " When I became the NASA Administrator, he ( President Obama ) charged me with three things. He wanted me to help reinspire children to want to get into science and math. He wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third and perhaps foremost he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim World and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering. "

So under Obama the once mighty and prestigious American Space Agency was reduced to merely being a cheer leading mouth piece for Obama propaganda.

Originally, Werner Von Braun wanted to establish a supply station in space before going to the moon. NASA nixed the idea.
