In the military, the oath was as follows:

"I, Do solemnly swear, that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States
against all enemies foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States, and the orders of officers appointed over me....."

Has anything changed, do you still pledge alliencience, will you still take the oath? I wonder...

You see Pete, many people enjoy sayng the pledge, standing up for the country, etc. But all of us that stand up for these things, stand for the right not to stand for.it also, I stand because I have the option not to.

It’s a very inclusive pledge Pete. With Liberty and Justice for ALL. Even an American hating ignoramus like you. You don’t feel like saying the pledge don’t. You have that right. It’s an individual thing. Very American. Check out these knuckleheads reasons for doing away with it. Actually you probably agree.

Read the Federalist Papers, especially Hamilton, who wrote about these mistakes of empires, and nations past.

The founders, Hamilton, Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, Monroe and the father of the Constitution himself, Madison, did a great analysis of great empires of the past.

Governments of the past, from Medieval Europe, to the Roman Empire, to the Persian Empire, to the Empire of Babylon and the Syrian Empire. From the Mongol and Mongolian Empires. From the Empires and dynasties of Japan and China. From the Russian Empire in the north, and the Ethiopian, Arabian, and Muslim Empires to the south. Only one nation under God, has embraced the principles and philosophies of God, Himself.

Hamilton found with the ancient Greek City-States that democracy, direct democracy fails. Years later, Carol Marx, wrote the "Communist Manifesto" by establishing a system based in the Roman Catholic Church. The system in the Church is held together by faith, and under that faith, the system works. A system of Communitism. However, Lenin read that book of Marx and overthrew the Czar, and instituted a system based in greed. He established the Constitution of the USSR. And in their 80 somewhat history the USSR failed because of the warning set forth in the United States Federalist papers.

We are the greatest nation in the world, and what makes us great is our free will joining others of similar will and withholding the rule of law. Once we establish the rule of law, we can then defend that law. Wyatt Earp was famous in defending the law. He brought the accused to justice in a fair way. Robert Kennedy as Attorney General of the United States did the same.

Today we live in a nation that has not forgotten these principles, but does not see the need to defend them. Then the wolves and snakes come in and want to control every aspect of human life. So the eagle must remove these snakes and wolves and stand true to the freedom we know of.

Human beings may or may not be able to agree with one another, but what we have found in our 200 year history is that Human beings can live in peace. We need to embrace that. A first step in doing so, is to pledge allegience to the Country. This country is your home, there is no other like it.

We are angels and devils. We live free as we choose fit. Do you take the oath and pledge?

The constitution summarizes all our rights, privileges, and duties which binds us together as a nation under God. Without the constitution, we do not have common goals but rather to his each own. That is what's going on right now.

I've observed that this hatred towards the flag, disrespect for the Pledge of Allegiance, and the National Anthem, started during the administration of Barack Obama. What came as the predominant power now is the word "RACE". And majority followed suit, erasing history, dismantling the statues of the Founders, and those who've fought hard protecting the freedom that all of us enjoy.

Currently there are activities going on in schools removing the statue of George Washington. Many of the statues have been already taken, such as Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Lee of Virginia, and others.

Currently Congress don’t give much relevance to the rights of the citizens. Their rights are trampled and over-powered by the different kinds of culture and people coming to this country illegally.

The current Congress suppress protecting the rights of the citizens being killed and attacked by the illegal aliens many of them are terrorists, drug dealers, and criminals. Congress at present prefers entries of all these illegal invaders, using the word "race"

Congress did not provide budget of $5.5 billion needed by the president for building the wall. Instead, Congress prefers spending hundreds of billions of dollars of our taxes, allowing millions of illegals coming in.

Congress won't recognize that there is crisis along the borders. The most difficult tasks now done by the ICE and border security is controlling the millions of invaders at the border due to the defective immigration laws set up.

Lives of citizens are killed while the Mexican Drug cartels poison our own people with their drugs.

The predominant and most powerful system supported by Congress now is the word "RACE". That is what's going on in Congress, and all over our system of governance.

The rights of the citizens are gradually taken away. Many of those in the sports team trample and desecrate our flag. They step on it; they sit on it and don’t respect it.

These new Congress women supports terrorists than the citizens of this nation victimized and killed by them. These are AOC, Talib, Omar, whose actions are treasonous supporting the Islam /Al Qaeda, terror groups and they are prevailing. They vilify our military that support and defend our freedom.

The recent citizenship question is being attacked by Congress, and the Justice system calling it "racist". This question was removed by Obama during his administration by reason of being “racist”

Now president Trump wants to put it back because it is one of the most important factors of the Census.

Since Obama, the Court system now do not interpret the law. They decide thru legislating from the bench to justify "RACE" now the prevailing power.

I was thinking about WWII and how there were no political parties that went overseas to fight, they were all Americans. There were British, French, Americans, and so on, but no Whigs or Tories, no democrats or republicans, no labor or conservative parties. All those men from our country made the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. Our flag is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. It means something to say you are an American and take that pledge. It also means something when you don't. It's somewhere along the lines of spelling God with a little g, it's disrespectful.
It IS your right to not make that pledge, just as it's MY right to refuse the low morals and disloyalty of the liberal party. I don't believe that makes me a Nazi any more than you are.

Nope, sorry, that's dead wrong. The Constitution delineates the powers delegated to the Federal government and establishes a framework for that government to function and exercise those powers. State and individual rights, privileges and obligations are not delineated in the Constitution because the Constitution is predated by those rights, privileges and obligations. The Constitution exists because some of those powers were delegated, not the other way around.

We are sovereigns, not subjects.
