Brilliant Politics for a failed Law

Once again the Dems led by the worst President in my life time have brilliantly used distraction politics. The ACA a total failure, a law that was passed by telling lies about the laws impact is being overlooked because all the media and proponents and opponents of this law are looking at is the number of sign ups. Who cares if the sign ups are 7 million or 20 the law still is the law. Its negative effects are greatly enhanced by the more who sign up. So while they argue about the number of sign ups and paid policies this destructive law is embedding itself in our country more everyday.

I cannot understand the negativity to ACA.

Those without received medical care at the emergency room, and it made my insurance premiums higher. They can now get it cheaper at a doctor's office.

A young people can be on their parents policy. A parent should not have to decide whether to go broke paying their children's medical bills, pay their children's insurance premiums, or let their children take care of it. Someone making $7.50 an hour could not pay the premiums on their own.

And someone with a preexisting condition was ---- out of luck.

No, ACA is not perfect; but with a little common sense we can improve it.

If you are one that still believes that the ACA is about insurance or insuring anyone then you are nuttier than a fruitcake. It was all about giving the democrat party more money and power and nothing else. It gives the central government control over an additional one sixth of the economy. Lets see social security bankrupt, medicaid bankrupt, medicare bankrupt, post office bankrupt, welfare bankrupt, every social reform program that the federal government has touched is bankrupt and now you want to give them total control over your healthcare? Even in the UK and other countries that have tried it are finding out that socialized medicine doesn't work.

Sure some parts sound good. Unfortunately the only way to bring down cost is free market. I know that sounds like a cliché but it is the truth. If you are going to make insurance cover pre-existing conditions it is technically no longer insurance. I am not saying the people should not be taken care of but the price for this sort of coverage would sky rocket everyone else's premiums. Simple math. What do you think house insurance would cost if you could purchase it after your house burned down? Life Insurance is one of the few insurance products where premiums compared to amount of coverage over the years has improved. Why? We live longer, more companies, many different types to choose from. With out too much detail we could make health insurance much more affordable and have high risk pools run by the states for those with pre-existing conditions. Here are a few free market solutions that would help drive costs down.
1.) Transparency - Ever wonder why when you go to a hospital there is no list of charges for procedures. Hell we wouldn't by a meal with out knowing the price . Make hospitals and doctors list at least a range of prices per procedure.
2.) Tort Reform - I have 5 doctors in my family and malpractice insurance is high, but what is worse in this day of litigation is the number of unnecessary tests ordered by doctors so they protect themselves from every conceivable law suit.
3.) Portability - The ability to buy from any company anywhere anytime would drop premiums dramatically due to competition. You should also Have the ability to keep and purchase your health coverage if you lose your job at the rates the company was paying from that provider.
4.) Customize plans - You and your doctor with your doctors signature pick what you are willing to have covered. Much like car insurance. Some want collision, some want liability. Every year their would be a time period where you could add or delete different lines of coverage. Much like Medicare open enrollment plans. This aspect of what should happen would reduce premiums moor than any single thing.

Those without received medical care at the emergency room, and it made my insurance premiums higher. They can now get it cheaper at a doctor's office.

The negativity comes with people having to pay for a policy they don't WANT... And I don't know where you live, but in the 3 States I've lived in in my 64 years of life, NO ONE WAS EVER TURNED DONE FOR EMERGENCIES... And all 3 States ALREADY HAD COVERAGE FOR FOLK WHO COULDN'T AFFORD INSURANCE...

Add to this the fact that in 2008-2010, ACA was proposed & passed with the understanding the 30 Million UnInsured would be & yet, Pres Obama's Admin has said they'll be... 30 Million UnInsured... WHAT HAPPENED TO "EVERYBODY WILL BE COVERED?!?... And if You want to Reply "Where Did I Hear That?!?" Please... look at:

californiahealthline.org & healthaffairs.org for starters...
