Oops! I thought you were responding to the post where he spoke nicely about me.

I like the old geezer, but he needs to quit standing around in his garden, and telling us to pull our weeds while watching his own grow.
Does that make any sense?

I don't think there is anything such as an all white school. but there are some all black schools.

Here, in West Virginia there is a Muslim school in Charleston, a school for only black people in Morgantown, and private school for people of Mexican descent. The Muslim school is fine with me because it is privately funded. The other two are publicly funded but the argument for having them for only a select group of people according to their ethnicity is that those groups are more comfortable with people of like background Had that been public schools (these two are gradeschools) for European whites only everyone would be up in arms. The buildings are old and the classes are small, and I doubt that they will be around much longer, but they should not be there, in that form, at all.

Yes, Archie, you are always right, and usually correct, particularly when you agree with me.'Oh well, time t get NPP up, make him take his medicines and go with me for a short walk. Was going to suggest going o the post office but that is 5 miles away so I guess we will just take all 4 dogs for a walk.

As to the Constitution and Bill Of Rights, yes, certain things need to be cleaned up. For example, it's pretty clear from the "Congress shall make NO law...." and "....shall NOT be infringed", who the founders were aiming at - i.e. self-important authorities. And because those provisions were/are clearly absolute**, and a restraint against government abrogations and dubious "interpretations", the Supreme Court being one third of said government, said SCOTUS has zero authority to decide which bits and pieces of either Amendment they can reinterpret on their corporate/government clients' behalfs.

**People of dubious intent often claim that the "Yelling fire in a theatre" example is a limitation on exercise of the First Amendment. Pure BS. It's no more than a common-sense example of civil order, as much as making it unlawful for a person to leave a loaded gun in their front yard unattended all night long. For a great example of civil order, the film And Justice For All has Jack Warden speaking to Al Pacino on a ledge outside Warden's judicial office. Warden waves toward the office and says "There's the law", and then points to his handgun and says "There's order." Leftists pretend not to understand these things, or at least you'd think they're pretending.

Anyway, that's a small bit of my conservative side.

Never managed to see the movie, it was on my list, but somehow never viewed it..

Hope your conservative side is not much deeper..

gun rights is so convoluted In Minnesota, both my right wing and left wing buds feel nearly the same way..

all have guns and never see any chance of confiscation, but most on both side do think some regulation is called for..

the difference is deep in what that regulation could be..

My conservative side is informed rather than emotional. I try to imagine laws and regulations that have outcomes based on accurate analyses of the situations they ostensibly intend to address, rather than on whose self-interest they might serve instead. For example, gun-tracking databases seem to be not only as doable as license-plates-where-seen-and-photographed databases are doable and working, but are probably much better implemented than the media admits. So what's the problem? Unwillingness to prosecute crime appropriately. For example, the "death penalty". Massive excuses are given for killing it off (pun intended), based on "they might be innocent" etc. But is that really logical, to put these "possibly innocent" persons into a prison where they get raped and beaten and heavily criminalized instead? Where they might escape and murder someone if they're really not innocent? It's all a bunch of hogwash, and wimpy unwillingness to perform real justice.

You look at the U.S. map of Democrat dominated districts and compare it to the U.S. crime map. Nearly identical. Anyone with common sense can see the problem instantly.

Your first paragraph is good, but the last seems to be an accusation that democrat policy cause crime..

that is not at all true.. your map shows conditions, not causality..

And a reminder, the reason democrats run the cities is because back in the day, republicans did not want to deal with city problems and poverty..

the grabbed the country dwellers, which in that day was where the money was.. the left overs went to the democrats as the only other possable action..

As an example, while the twin cities area has had a number of heart wrenching shooting/situations, overall they still rank well on the national scale..

Yes, there are and they’re federally funded.

The examples are Chicago, Baltimore, etc. Heavy on crime and gangs, heavy on Democrat bleeding hearts, etc. Those might pass as "conditions" to some folks, but to me it says "special interests".

crime and gangs in the city are "special interests"... would you explain that one please....

Want to know the real reason crime is so high in the cities??

I kid you not,, that is where the money is.. why would a criminal go elsewhere??

And what money are you talking about? The cities are full of poor people. The rich and upper middle class live in the 'burbs, and employ police who keep them safe.
