I had a friend in San Antonio who had a pair of opossums. They were actually pretty good pets and would hand by their tails , ate cat food and used the litter box. Opie and Ophelia Possum. that was years ago.

Sad so many photos show them baring their teeth. They're actually really cute when they're friendly.
