I don’t buy them, I see them dead on the road. As long as they’re in the middle of the road and dead, I run over the carcass, just to “Aromatize the drivers side of my vehicle.
I would never go and try to hit one that’s still alive, but I’ll happily scent the car/ truck so as to deflect the police. It’s a natural police repellent.

Where do you buy your skunks?
I find them dead in the road.
I looked on line and found a few skunk repellent concepts from sounds to common household chemicals (ammonia, vinegar, etc.).

I did too. I'm going with the ammonia idea for now. It's the cheapest route.
I would like to think that the dogs learned their lesson, but the bulldog got it the worst, and he's a little hard of learnin as it is.

I'm not sure they're that smart. If we didn't have the chain link fence, they would have tried to tackle our resident badger.
Sorry Arch, you're dogs will just have to smarten up after a couple of sprayings.
Or you could place a trap twenty feet outside the fence and hope to catch em. Throw a shower curtain or a large piece of plastic over the cage so you don't get sprayed. Wear your goggles. Then dump them further from home. Always stay upwind placing and removing the plastic and opening the cage.

I'm all for just leaving them outside till they quit stinkin, but they lobby the ole lady for special treatment, and I get vetoed every time!

I haven’t known a dog yet that’s ever learned to stay away from a skunk.

When did animals get the right to vote?
Missed that on the six o'clock news.
The ole lady already out voted you years ago.
You have 1 vote and she has 1+ vote.
Throw that marriage vow thing at her about obeying.
Maybe it'll work this time. LOL

Curiosity gets the dog too.
Dog: woof, who's trespassing?
Skunk: Me, spray.
Dog: Cries, all the way home.

Unfortunately Peewee, in this locality, we live under a dictatorship where the dictator dictates all of the dictatorial dictation about what will be dictated.
And if I play the obedience card, she'll laugh at me, and tell me to hop up, and make her a sammich.

You have any more of them obedience cards?
I'm tired of making my own sammich.
They never taste as good as the ones somebody else makes.

Has anyone here tried with success any of the recommended options?
We came home from work yesterday to two skunked dogs, and I don't want a repeat of that rodeo.
I'm just wondering what actually works. Ammonia soaked rags sounds like the most inexpensive option.
Head down to PetCo and get a bottle of Nature's Miracle Skunk Odor Remover. Use as directed and it will completely remove the odor and your dog will thank you for the relief.
I always read and this is my first reply, I can help with the skunks. You need to pee along the fence line . I grew up in the rural mid west and my grand father thought me this . It works and enjoy your morning stroll. Ted

That's exactly what I did! That stuff is the schnizz!!
I have a spare bottle on hand just in case!
It took two go rounds with the bulldog. He did well the first time, but wasn't too receptive the second.
It was cold, and rainy out, so wrestling around with an 80lb dog in the bathtub was....challenging.
But, we're all happy now!
