I think lukewarm is fine for sleeping.

No problem. I prefer a good honest expletive to a munbled, quickly withdrawn insult. When I abstain and only use my grown up words, people find me stuck up, "superior" and "psuedointellectual" I think some one said.

"I disagree, here's why." works, but most here seem to prefer the fireworks!

Yeah, I don't like to use those kinds of words . . . but, let he who is without sin throw the first stone. Many are quick to point out the speck in someones eye and miss the log in their own! I find any given topic, after some time being up, seems to devalue into commenting on others comments instead of staying on topic. Perhaps this is just an observation of how people communicate in general.

Not to justify any given behavior . . . but we aren't perfect, just forgiven . . . if one believes that!!!

God's wrath is no riddle. Why would you say that. What in His word suggests it?

Your statement...

Quote:
God’s greatest gift was His Son taking on His wrath for our sins to save us.

God creates man... An imperfect creation...
God is Wrathful that man is imperfect...
God (omnipotent) decides that the only way man may be saved is for God to die...
God incarnates Self...
God dies (not really because He is God...)...
Eternal life is found through this "sacrifice"...
God determines that belief in this sacrifice alone shall be the measuring stick for eternal life...
This is now considered a gift...

This should be looked upon as an intellectual exercise... Not a challenge to your beliefs...

I have no interest in challenging the beliefs of any individual... Free will is the greatest of gifts... And it is for each of us to exercise it as we see fit...

Night Rose...

I look forward to reading your response come morning...

Your friend, Kyle

I imagine watching fireworks with you would be quite the occasion... Add punctuation to some of your more poignant remarks...

I find it sufficient to offer apologies to all the provably present sentient beings involved and then to demonstrate self correction, then forgive myself and any other asshole who might have pissed me off. (Presidentially approved and tested vocabulary choices!)

I think that living in America and understanding what has been going on here is very different than living in another nation and critiquing what life is like here in America. I understand why one would take offense at your comments . . . but I also see where you seem to be wanting to mend fences between you and Blade. Being clear in what one types here . . . trying to make ones point . . . using the proper words to reflect what is going on in ones head . . . can be a bit complicated.

When someone uses swear words at me, I tend to respond in kind . . . and can get as bad as anyone else! I don't like to do it, and most often strive to not do it. That being said, I sense there may be a semantic issue going on here and clarification needs to be allowed to happen.

Trying to bring a more open avenue of communications is my goal in this comment. Hope it is taken that way.

OK, I'll try once again to be clear. I have no bones to pick with Canuckus, he's one of the good guys. My exchange with him has been an attempt to give him some idea what it means to be an American. To me anyway. Apparently my explanations weren't clear enough, or he simply does not grasp the concept.

America has many enemies, foreign and domestic. I am not one to try to "mend fences" with any enemy who has no intention of mending any fences whatsoever.

What does "mend fences" mean anyway? It is an idiom that originated with the mid-17th century proverb "good fences make good neighbors". Over the years the meaning has changed. When people mend fences, they try to improve or restore relations that have been damaged by disputes or arguments.

There is another perspective on this. When you come to a fence that isn't damaged and you feel compelled to tear it down, you should ask yourself why the fence is there in the first place. Like a border wall.

I have been a member here 6 years and I have yet to see anyone on either side of the political, ideological or religious divide mend any fences. Why is that? Simply because it is not a "fence" that separates us, it is an unbridgeable abyss. So what then am I doing here? The greatest benefit to me has been the knowledge I have gained in dealing with those whose political, ideological or religious positions are diametrically opposed to my own. This has given me the opportunity to do a great deal of research into ideologies, politics, religion, American history, world history, science, and a host of other areas of life on earth.

I am not foolish enough to think I could ever turn a hard-core leftist into a conservative, or an atheist into a believer.

Canuckus is a Canadian who seems to enjoy living in a foreign nation that is undoubtedly an enemy of the United States (and Canada). That is what puzzles me. But, hey, as he himself put it, to each his own.

Takes a while for folks to catch on to that about you. Sometimes I just assume it by faith engendered by previous encounters. Other times your mind seems to go where none has gone before. Nor should.

Mostly in a good way. Not always.

But I, sorta, like you. On a good day.

mwdegutis and I mended a few fences. He ended up saying he loved me, in a Jesusy kinda way, I suspect. But I also developed a certain respect for him, akin to liking. Haven't heard from him nor looked him up in a while, though.

He still around?

The answer to this will be included in my response to you...

For now let's just say that I am rather authoritarian in my views...
