The Democrats want to eliminate the electoral college because they win the popular vote in major population centers, but lose the electoral college vote because their majorities are too concentrated geographically. The Democrats want to form a compact of states to throw their electoral votes to whomever wins the national popular vote no matter how the residents of the state voted. I believe the method most in line with the founding fathers intent would be the system used by Nebraska and Maine. The winner of the statewide popular vote would receive 2 electoral votes with the remaining electoral votes divided by the winner of each congressional district. The site 270towin.com breaks this down for the last two Presidential elections. The site also states that this option is the most stable for the Electoral College. We need to urge our representatives to back this proposal as it will most truly represent the will of the people.

Before we make any changes I say we need to ask why the founding fathers went with the system we have.
I say it may well have been the nation did not have a way to tabulate votes well on a national level.
Poor communication. Plus it is method that supports issue s on a political party line.
Not leaving a fair situation for individuals.
Many of the problems that have happen have been caused along political party lines.
In many ways that lead to an unnatural division of the masses.
This in many cases increasing the power of those with in the parties.

Some like it some don't.
I say it needs to be rehashed.

No rehash needed. The system is working just fine, but if it were changed I think the candidate winning the most counties nationwide becomes POTUS.

True, but the Electoral College was instituted to protect the smaller states from the larger ones. Without this protection, the smaller states would never have ratified the Constitution.
Another thing to consider is returning the selection of senators back to being appointed by the state government, like it was before the 17th amendment was passed, and not by popular vote of the people of the state. Just another point to ponder.

I'm really for repealing the vote for senator.

Great point. Then mistakes like Jeff Flake & John McCain could be corrected by recall.

I am not saying that the means of having the number of representatives by population per state is an issue. It is to be done by population.
When you try to transpose that issue to one of political parties best interest you give greater power & influence to the political parties.

This only adds to the division of us as individuals.
When you divide the people on political issues you enhance & strengthen the parties power & political influence.

It is the popular vote that needs to be the biases of elections.
Not voting by political party votes.

Just who do you wish to own your soul?
I say giving you vote to a political party is like giving your soul away.

It is not an easy task to have before us.
But we need to think of what is truly in our personal best interest in how we elect the best people to be our representatives.
Going through political parties has not served us as well as it could or should have.

For a start I think just leaving off the political party mentioned on ballots would be a good start.
Voting is a public issue. controlled by & paid for the public. It need not be an extension of political parties.

Agreed. Because the globalists have succeeded in "The Dumbing Down of America", a plurality of voters are complete morons. They select a candidate based on popularity & name recognition and almost never research the candidate's background, voting record and policy opinions (and we no longer have a legitimate news media to vet candidates). If you don' believe it, you've never watched video segments where a camera crew takes to the streets and asks random people simple, basic questions regarding the identity of our public leaders and how our government works. The vast majority of those interviewed are totally clueless. Our public schools no longer teach fundamentals & a working knowledge of civics. Instead, we have political correctness & identity politics bulls**t being crammed down the collective throats of our youth. Its called indoctrination and its being used to slowly change the culture and political landscape. Lately this heinous strategy has escalated exponentially.
America's sovereignty is the last stumbling block preventing the globalists from creating "A New World Order"; One world government, one world economy and one world religion (the state). Its all been prophesied in the Bible, by the way.
And we're letting it happen, right before our eyes. This attempt to change the way we elect our leaders is a perfect example of the abominable contrivance we face today and patriots need to treat this as nothing short of a major crisis.
God help us all.

I would say that most of those type interviews are edited to show what the editors wish to show case.
Some people see through the façade & play the game.

You're assuming a lot. I say you can't fake "stupid" that well. Too many Americans are spending most of their time on their phones, on Facebook for self-actualization and watching vacuous TV shows such as "Survival", The Bachelor", "Big Brother", etc. Why do you suppose the Asian students are out-performing their American counterparts in almost every genre and category of scholastic achievement? Could it be that they're severely trained & disciplined to study at such a demanding & arduous way, so they can compete in the world with overwhelming success?
We had better wake up - and fast!

I will not step away from what I said.
I will agree with much of what you just posted.

I put what you point out as being a part of distracting people from really watching or paying attention to what is taking place in politics. The public has been brain washed to believe that only the few have the right answers.

So they parade these icons in front of us in any way they can.
Showing how the path to a better life is had by creating icons of public figures to distracting the public to watch those people.

You see these people all over the media.
A cross section that every one can look to as a guide to what could be out there for them.

Like Ellen & Steve Harvey & so many others whos face dominate Television.
It is like opium to the human brain.

Okay. Let's just choose our president and representatives like American Idol or Survivor.

Good examples. Ellen, a lesbian - an abomination in the eyes of the Lord (read Romans 1:18-26). Americans in the 1950's would never watch that show. Steve Harvey, a Freemason - a secret society with immeasurable evil at the highest levels - heretics, all; Basically a dark cult. And yet they're all gladly accepted as popular "entertainers" in our society.

Currently changing the electoral college at all will just reduce the impact of citizens on the selection of the President. Until we stop the voter fraud, any change is just throwing the vote even more to cheaters.
