Hey Kevy, in my State of Pennsylvania we have the highest gasoline taxes in the nation and in my humble opinion the worst roads of all 50 states.

Do not even tell me we are under taxed. Our Government MASTERS over tax us and under serve us. We got infra structure spending coming out of our ears. You don't know what you are talking about. GUVMENT needs to fire most of their employees. Waste, waste, waste.

Do not blame my boy Trump for the misspending of tax money at the state and local level.

Assuming that you are or at one point made a house payment when the roof or furnace wears out it is an additional expense, this is no different. There is simply not enough savings in eliminating the realistically small amount of fraud or abuse to replace the infrastructure. We just need to do what the generations before us did and pay for it. When our interstate highway system was built the top marginal tax rate was 90% Our tax rate compared to GDP has fallen for years and we no longer can keep the country moving forward. If your taxes have not gone down or your income has not grown at the rate of GDP you ought to know why there is a distressed middle class and our infastructure is collapsing. Ill give you a hint it has nothing to do with immigrants or poor kids getting school lunches.

An individual should be a conservative and plan for unseen events such as the furnace going out. Have insurance or cash saved for such things.

Don't be liberal and waste your assets having a good time or living from Payday to payday. Then you won't have to borrow and payback twice as much as you borrow.

Capitalist love to lend you money. If you can't pay back your loan they can take your home, all legally.

No one in my long list of forefathers ever borrowed money on the tree farm property.

We already have the rain tax here in Illinois. It went into effect last year. With our shiny new governor, our taxes are about to get much, much worse. If you want a sociopolitical experiment in real time, we have a completely democratically controlled government with a Chicago machine governor running it. Let’s see how Illinois prospers in the next years to come. I predict we declare bankruptcy within two years, but the powers that be will try to figure out how it wasn’t their fault.

I hadn't heard very much on the rain tax here in Illinory so I looked it up one place said it was stopped now this may have been just that city !

If you hear anymore that is different let me know if you would .

Currently it's a tax designed for city's and so far not out here in rural area, but I stand to be corrected !

It seems our socialist fiends in New Jersey are running out of other peoples' money...

What jumps into my mind is this leftist governor and every other N.J. state Democrat being tarred, feathered and run out of the state on a rail.

But then again, if voters in NJ want politicians like these parasites running their state, they'll just keep voting Democrat, which seems to be their preference.

Look at N.Y. One district decided they wanted AOC to represent them in the House, now they've lost 25,000+ needed jobs and $24B+ in tax revenues right off the bat as a result.

This is all what the Democratic Party has come to offer Americans, and while it's all happening, they cover it up by focusing public attention on non-existent "Russia collusion" and other made-up offenses levelled at the president.

If they could, they would. Our governor is a billionaire who is always going on about taxing the rich. I’m waiting for the last millionaire and the last big business to leave Illinois and for him to come out all confused and wonder why they left. Illinois taxes and policies have done wonders in helping the prosperity of our neighboring states with the out migration of working people and businesses. We are becoming Little California. And the part that grinds my gears is out of the 112 counties in Illinois, maybe 4 vote Democrat. It’s just that there’s more people in cook county (Chicago) than the rest of the state combined. The Democrats have never tried to govern the state, they govern Chicago and screw the rest of us. As far as they are concerned, Springfield is a necessary inconvenience and everything south of interstate 80 might as well be Kentucky.

You nailed it!!!

I lived in cook county and although my home had not appreciated they raised my taxes by some $2200 in 2 years... That made up my mind when also paying 4 dollars a gallon...

I used to drive over to Indiana to fill up at like 2.38 a gallon and get a couple cartons of cigs (smoked then)...in Chiago they were $109.00 a carton.. Indiana they were $43. To $45. A carton...

Now in Colorado and ever so glad I made the move..

Gasoline here is $1.79 and a carton of cigarettes are $35.00. They are menthal 100s and imported from Canada. Shipped right through Chicago's railroad on the Canadian National. So the cigarette tax on a carton of cigarettes is about $75.00 tax per carton.

It's legal highway robbery.

Several of the men bought the Top-O-Matic cigarette machine for $60.00. A pound of tobacco and 2 boxes of tubes will roll 2 cartons of cigarettes and the cost is about a $1.00 per pack.

The savings paid for the machine payed for its self and saved extra money the first time they used it. The tobacco dosen't have fire retarding chemicals either. They can get pound bags of menthol or full flavor tobacco.

My employeed are true conservative. They find ways to save their money like reloading brass or making Grandpaw secret corn squeezing.

😏😁😎💲

I've been buying my own tobacco and using a small hand-roller for years, simply because there are rolling tobaccos available that provide a stronger, longer, more flavorful smoke without all the chemicals that turn factory rolled cigarettes into little more than fast-burning gunpowder sticks.

My hand-roller makes perfect cigarettes that look exactly like unfiltered Camels or Luckies.

Mine work out somewhere in that region, much more agreeable than the $11.00 a pack in CA or, worse, the average $14-15.00 in N.Y.

When I lived in Charlotte, NC a little over ten years ago I was buying Chesterfield Kings for $40.00 a carton, which was still within the reasonable range.

More than 90% of the price of pre-manufactured cigarettes in many states now, worse in their major cities that add their own taxes, is... tax.

It's a disgrace the way they raise taxes. Then most of the money raised mysteriously disappears. Most reapperss in politicians pockets.
